Weird Al rocks.

I don't need to settle. I just want to clean house. I've typed up a dv letter already saying that I saw it on my report... just wanted to see if anyone had anything scary to say about the sol part, etc.

How has everybody come up with their creditboard names?

Oh... everyone didn't just use their first name like me? -
I'm trying to figure out if I should dv two CA's. There are 3 accounts between the two, and none over $200. I could easily settle them if necessary. I've read a number of warnings about waking the bastards up, and am wondering if there is a preferred wording or anything that might help when I know I'm well within sol.

Anybody? Beuler?

Better Explanation of the 1-2 punch..Please

Hmmm... I'm going after 3 accounts from 2 CA's. I could settle them if I needed to, but both are well within SOL. Is the summons actually a very real threat if each account is under $250? Is there a preferred way to dv that might lessen the chances of legal entanglement? -
I was told the other day that it's important to use the address for a CA that is on file with the CRA reporting the account. How do I get that? I'm trying to dv them. I can't even find them on a state site for licenses, so I don't have any address for them at all. Also: Does the fact that the CA doesn't show up on a state website under current license holders for a CA necessarily mean they're illegal here, or is it possible that they are just a branch or subsidiary of the OC, or something like that?

Does a CRA have to send signed contract in response to pr?
karmakameleon replied to karmakameleon's topic in Credit Forum
Oh... also... I'm searching for this right now, but I have to go to bed soon... I'm trying to track-down the addresses of a couple of collection agencies... I found them once, but it was after a lot of hunting and I forgot how... I think I need to go to a state laws page somewhere and pull up their licences... anyone more familiar with this got the page or any pointers to help me get this nailed tonight? Much appreciated. -
Does a CRA have to send signed contract in response to pr?

sigh.... no love? -
Sorry, but I don't seem to be finding this... What exactly are the required bits a CRA needs to send back to have properly verified? I have responses back from a round of disputes with a built-in pr, and they list the creditor, their contact info, and a list of late dates. Do they need to send a signed copy of the original contract, etc in response to my procedural request, or am I confusing that with something the Furnisher has to do if I now turn around and ask them to verify on their end? Thanks.

GF is in BK13 with bad credit. Her CU cancelled her check-card when she filed because she included a car loan with them. Now she needs to open a new account somewhere else so she can get a visa check-card. She spoke to a local bank today, and they said they have to pull credit, and granting of the card is conditional. Anyone have any insights here, or what SOP is for banks when someone new applies and wants a check-card?

If lending tree comes up with an option, does that mean you're in, just apply and you're good, or not. Also, how is income verified?

Hey, now... is that really necessary? I'll have you know they're running a tight ship these days. They've invested heavily in new technology as well. They have a new tank they're about to unveil. It's a 5 speed model. It's got one gear going forward, and 4 in reverse.

Be careful. First off, clothing is absolutely NOT a deduction unless it qualifies as a uniform (embroidered with company logo, for instance.) The fact that you wear said clothing for work means nothing. Now, you can buy an Armani suit, sew a little logo (permanently affixed) on the lapel, and you're good to go, but the underwear is definitely getting thrown out... and if you take too many bogus deductions, they start looking at EVERYTHING more critically. If by shareholders' meeting, you mean that you have other people who are a part of the biz, and you need to find a common meeting place, that's fine. If, however, you mean that you and SO are taking off to Myrtle Beach, it won't fly. It's easy to fix, though. There are very cut and dry formulas about how much biz vs. personal on trips. )Actually, oddly enough, one of the easiest things to write off is cruises)... but here's the key: You need documented proof of the business purpose. So... while in Myrtle Beach, attend a seminar on something related to the business, or (at the VERY least) collect some brochures from vendors in related field along with some biz cards, etc. Show that you had meetings with these people, and document the business purpose. Establish that there is a reason you went to Myrtle beach vs. holding shareholders' meeting in your backyard. Now: Got that established? Great... go ahead and write-off EVERYTHING relating to the trip, and don't forget to write-off your dry-cleaning after you get back for clothes worn while on the trip. Bon Voyage.

Actually, the most FUN bike I've had was a Vulcan 500. The lighter it is, the more fun it is to ride (except on highways), because it's more responsive. There's no replacement for a big v-twin, though.
