  1. I agree. FB keeps telling me my profile is 100% complete and they know it's not. Their reverse way of asking for more of my info has the opposite effect. I go in and delete more of it. LOL. But I do stir the pot & like more political filled pages, if only to ire some of my opposing view friends .
  2. Exactly this Tigz!! I admit, once Addy was born, I got caught up in all that new babyness & my Mommy groups, then we got sucked into FB too. I stumbled upon some CB'rs over on FB and I've peeked back in here recently. Actually just got to meet my first CB peep, Brazen! She & their daughter met me & my daughter for lunch this past weekend. Wasn't awkward at all, when you've known someone in a group like this for nearly 10 years, it's like an old friend
  3. It's considered affection with us, we do stuff like that daily (not necessary the slaps on the rear, but lovey, playful stuff like that). It doesn't bother me, I'd rather get a slap on the rear than for him to ignore me (or vice versa)
  4. My husband's friend told us Chase did the same thing. I haven't checked online yet for any articles, but I'll say that if Chase does go through with it, we'll be headed back to USAA most likely.
  5. Been a long time since I've sought credit related help, but I've never dealt with a collections 'pay for deletion/removal' before. So, here is the short of it.... Just started a Quicken Loans VA Refi process. They pulled EXP, which has an account from RJM Acquisitions on it for $53. This doesn't show up on EQ or TU, so it threw me for a loop, but I do know what it is. After speaking w/my Quicken rep about it, if I dispute it, it might throw my credit report/score into disarray/limbo. I don't want anything to mess with our refi process. I tried searching on here for the RJM term & deletion, pay for removal, but found nothing but lots of threads for various topics and had no clue which one to pick from. I Googled 'RJM and deletion or pay for removal' and found a link for an old thread (from 2008) where several people had good luck with the pay for deletion technique with them. I suppose my dilemma is time. I have no problem paying it, as yes, it is ours (something I long ago forgot about, but still a legal debt). Has anyone ever faxed a pay for deletion letter? Or should I just ante up the extra $ and overnight the request? Our scheduled closing time is the end of November, but I would rather get this all done as quickly as possible. Quicken mentioned it could be taken care of within the loan, and while I don't mind that, I'd much rather it be removed if I'm going to pay it, kwim? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!
  6. Thanks Brian! Actually, I clicked on a link within Military.com for refinancing info for VA and they paired us up with Quicken. They called this morning and we got the ball rolling. The loan is in process as we speak, and appears to be going very smooth. The agent handling the process is very efficient & helpful. It also helps when you have all the documents you need in order & figures in your head that you can just rattle off to them to get started. DH's score is a bit under their radar, so it's going in my name alone again. They pulled Exp, bummer, 'cause score there is 685. It's 708 w/EQ. Plus, there's a stupid book club collection on it too, they want that paid. (searching for a pay for removal letter now on here). The rate went from 5.25% to 4.6% and includes the first mortgage & equity loan, plus some cash out (to pay off the small CC's we have) if the appraisal is on target. The numbers now have the payment $30 less than now (but we free up the $400 eq loan & hopefully part of another, so in the end we should save roughly $600/mth). Crossing fingers!
  7. Ah, I knew they were close in age! Addy turned 5 in May Little Miss Know It All!
  8. Interesting link Pam. Must take a lot of work to go to that much trouble to save; most my coupons get nixed right away as I've either bought the wrong product, ie, 4 singles instead of 4-pack. Lots of those that buy soaps, razors, etc, usually end up reselling them on eBay anyway for a markup. So yea, scam in a lot of ways! I've never watched the show though (wanted to, just forget)...
  9. Hi Mason! Last time I was active around here, I think you were inactive. LOL. And I think you had a kiddo too. Thanks Banker! Yea, I got sucked into the world of Mommyhood and that message board arena, then FB and well, just life. Going to make more of an honest effort to stay and visit awhile again. Hi Tee. Hi OC. Hi Thing 1 & 2. Hi Breeze. Hi Sultan. Hi PSP. Hi Angel (oh wait, you're on my FB!). Hi DeluxeM. Hi Radi8. Hi Hegemony. Hi Cotter. I know, I've got lots more but it's a general hello to the old peeps I remember and to the new ones I may not know yet.
  10. Wow. I don't have time to do that. Couple of gals from my Momma's board do it. Maybe not to that extreme, but they take pride in what they do save/get back. I'm happy if I have a $1 off coupon or something. Walmart suits me just fine. I would use more coupons if I 'went Krogering' more often.
  11. Also, October 1 is a good thing because...all VA home loan purchases that close after October 1 will have reduced VA fees! From 2.15% to 1.4% for first timers, but every tier benefits. Good luck, and good timing! That's good to know. We're not first timers, but would hopefully still benefit from the reduced fees.
  12. We've been in our house for 9 years. Started with a 7% rate, then within' the first year, refi'd twice and have been at 5.25% since then. We owe $120K. Payment is $984 (taxes/insurance lumped in). Our tax value increased this year from $142K to $166K. Never have had it appraised since the first 2 refi's. Our area isn't horrible in the market, so I'm hoping this would be something we can swing. Our loan is a VA loan. I've tried searching it, but 2 letters won't do. A mix of things come up. Basically looking for any banks to recommend seeking out for this option & whether or not any stand out for being great with VA processes. If we can do a cashout/consolidate, we can possibly free up damn near $800 each month. Checked my score, FICO is 710. House is currently in my name alone but we would refi with both of us on it. I've decided to nix Lending Tree & Quicken. I only have 1 inquiry on as of now & really don't want to jack anything up. Any recommendations? I'm off work tomorrow, I was going to talk to Chase and see what's available. The banks in our area are: Chase Fifth Third PNC US Bank Republic Bank American Founders Bank Community Trust Central Bank Citizens Commerce Various credit unions (we belong to one) Some local banks (Kentucky Bank, Traditional Bank, Bank of Lex, etc)... Any ideas? Any Bank of America experiences here? Thanks for any help!
  13. Hello! I miss you guys! Seems I always poke my head back in here around this time of year, with the promise to be around more & I always fail. Epic failure. Sorry Hope everyone is well. My little girl is growing fast. Kindergarten already. Knows everything. As any 5 year old would. I'm sure I've missed some big stuff in my absence, feel free to catch me up if you want! Keep at me, I'll try to keep this promise to check back in more often. FB is killin' me. I hate the new FB. lol
  14. I'm exhausted from all this freakin' snow we have. Muscles ache like hell. More snow in about 3 weeks than we've appeared to have in almost 2 years. Sucks tail. But it's a job. Anyone out in this cold chocolate & snow that isn't paid to be is a nutjob. That said, I have a 3 day weekend approaching, so I'm just itching to get through Thursday & Friday's mail volume & wait (semi-patiently) for beer:30 on Friday. I've not slipped or fallen. Now that I've said it, I'll bust my azz tomorrow for sure. Don't laugh at your mail'person' if/when they fall. It's not nice.
  15. Hello fellow CB'rs, new & well, the ones I started with Trying to get back into checking here, with all that's gone on credit wise, etc, & I'm missing the old banter/fun! Just an update, I'm still working at the USPS, DH too. DH broke his leg last year & we've been 'on the mend' since. But, there's a light at the end of every tunnel. Unless there's a landslide before it, then there's still one at the other end. Hopefully! The 'baby' girl is now almost 5. Will try to post some pics shortly. Have to make a run for Lowe's before it closes at 9. Anyway, just wanted to say HI and Happy New Year & belated Merry Christmas to all. Facebook has been evil & sponged alot of my time (I know I'm not the only one, but I'm trying to break that hold it has on me, even a small amount will help!) Missed you all & hope to be back more if you'll have me!!
