I opted out and sent a letter to Equifax to delete ALL of my old addresses. I told them I was worried about identity theft.

 

They deleted ALL of my old addresses as requested.

 

Thanks Why Chat for providing this valuable information on how to delete old addresses with the CRA'S.

 

Now I will send letters to Experian and Transunion.

Here is what I said in the letter to Equifax- I pulled a copy of my credit report and noticed INCORRECT addresses on my report. I have enclosed a copy of my personal information page from Equifax. I have circled the INCORRECT addresses in RED.

 

Please DELETE these addresses ASAP.

 

Identity Theft seems to be out of control and I am fearful that someone could mistakenly identify me as someone else with this INCORRECT information on my report.

 

I have enclosed my personal documents and a copy of my utility bill to prove my identity.

I sent them a copy of my drivers license, SS number, and a copy of my utility bill. I sent it certified mail. Took about 18 days from the time I mailed it for Equifax to remove incorrect addresses on my report.

There are probably better letters out there than the one I sent. I couldn't find one so I drafted my own.

 

I would hate for someone to use my letter and get denied for address deletion.
