I opted out weeks ago and sent a letter to Equifax to remove old addresses. Why Chat I followed all of your information as instructed.

The only agency that I wrote the letter to was Equifax to remove old addresses. I wanted to see how Equifax handled my request before I sent letters to Transunion and Experian.

I just got an email from Experian that Equifax notified them of an address change !!! Is that normal that one agency would notify another agency about an address change ?

Should I still follow your letter program and write letters to Transunion and Experian to remove old addresses ?

Thanks

Just as an FYI: Experian does not remove old valid addresses. I JUST finished dealing with them on this. They ignored the letter with the utility bill, DL etc. documenting my current address. I finally go them on the phone and went through each one with the "I don't recognize this address" game. I did but hadn't lived there in a decade or more. As long as no account on your CR is associated with the address they will delete. If it has an account associated it will stay.

Just get on the phone with EX and ask to go through it due to concerns of ID theft.

I can understand that Experian might not delete old valid addresses especially if there is a collection associated with it.

I just thought it was real strange that Equifax contacted Experian to give them the new address that I ONLY submitted to Equifax.

It might have something to do with because I have a membership with both Experian and Equifax. I just NEVER heard of one agency contacting another for an address change.

If you have "memberships" with both they may both share their data supplier. Were your old addresses deleted?? If not, then yes, send the deletion letters to TU and Ex. The idea is NOT to hide your NEW address, but to get rid of the OLD addresses.
