Other than Schwab, my Citi Forward card is the one I use the most. The rewards on that one work quite well for my spending. With as much Amazon spending as you do, you might want to consider it. I know people gripe about low limits on that one. They started me off with 6K last summer, but I've already gotten it up to 10K.

is forward TY points?

isn't there an annual cap on TY points?

does amzn get the 5%? does amzn's retailer code fall into the right categories?

from forward terms:

Online and catalog purchases are not eligible to receive 5 ThankYou Points unless the merchants appropriately identify the transactions.

Supposedly the forward card codes amazon as a bookstore. There is a 75K max on annual TY points.

I've never seen anyone approved for over 10K on this card. Those constraints make it so not worth it to me...

Im happy with my forward which imo is their only decent card. Have had it for 10 months and have gotten 2 cli already when they gave me my highest limit at the time and still are. 5TYP is basically only good for(if you want anything close to full value) lands end (lands end which is valid at sears, OSH, kmart, lands end, sears appliance) and Macys. I spend ~5k year on amazon so that 5TYP really adds up and all purchases have been credited plus you get $1(100typ) every month you have and pay your bill(PIF before statement = no 100 bonus points)

I can assure you 100% that Amazon purchases are under the 5 TYP/dollar catagories, this equals something like 3.4% cashback.

3.4>3 but not worth a new account effect.

I am just surprised how uninteresting CITI's products are. only a few cobrands too.
