  1. Calling for a volunteer to experiment on Discover with a new $2.01 statement balance. In the days when B* existed but we didn't know how it worked, it took experimenting by people like BobWang and me to figure out the exact numbers. Other sites are nice. It's even better when we can verify the information ourselves. If you have 10 credit cards that works with $1 each, that could be $120 free Amazon money a year. It may not be a lot of money for some people, and it could be a nice chunk of change for others. With the CB effect, it could be millions of dollars per year.
  2. Topic is the maximum balance you can have on your credit card that will be credited to $0.00 on the statement date. Purpose for you is free money. One method with minimal work is to buy an Amazon gift card for the exact maximum amount. I'm not seeing a list on this site so we should have one.
  3. $300K/year? Why don't you just pay everything off now.
  4. Yes. You do the test groups first, then you announce "The real way...". I offered to do a test where I would 'opt out' with one twin and 'freeze' with the other. You flat out told me that people didn't need/want that level of testing. You said know what works and that's all there is to it... Please go ahead with the test of opting out one and freezing the other. Then report back on the results of online disputes with EQ, EX, TU. Testing one variable at a time is how we discovered the rules of B* back in 2010.
  5. In the first post of this topic hundreds of pages ago, BobWang referred to me as "cm2010". Before we came along, B* was dark magic, and we were the ones who turned it into science. Now I would like to know who said what, that made him leave.
  6. Hey CM Interesting... which company was this? It was a brokerage account. My new employer hired me despite not being able to get a background check on me. They said I'm a ghost. I told them they must be using Lexis Nexis.

  8. If you've received your bankruptcy discharge, go to to the Capital One website below and click on "See If You're Pre-Qualified". Fill in your information, and if it says "Congratulations! We think you'll like this pre-qualified card offer." apply for all the cards that you are pre-qualified for. If you are married, do this separately for yourself and your spouse. Since you've already received your discharge, there's no need to wait. You can apply now for Capital One. http://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/compare/ After you Capital One has been reporting for 6 statement cycles, then apply for a Barclays card. Barclays wants to see at least 6 cycles after discharge. Everyone, please say when it is the earliest you received an unsecured card, which company it was with, and how long it was after discharge. If you know what the creditor is looking for, please mention that too.
  9. lilyfairy, let me help you since the others are not. Go to the Capital One website below and click on "See If You're Pre-Qualified". Fill in your information, and if it says "Congratulations! We think you'll like this pre-qualified card offer." apply for all the cards that you are pre-qualified for. Do this separately for yourself and your husband. 10. cv91915 yes I did freeze all 3 ARS LIR IDA. I also froze LexisNexis and yes BDK I had one account that a company would not open based on identity verification. They wouldn't tell me their verification methods but I knew it had to be LN. More info on ARS LIR here. http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=431947
  11. Bob, you should start a master thread The Master Earliest You Can Get Unsecured Approvals After Bankruptcy Discharge for cards not included in bankruptcy.
