Was just reading about a company that started taking credit cards in Nov. 2004 and saw their # of transactions/year go up 4.5% and average transaction $ go up 3.7%.

2002 -> 2003 sales fell 1.2%

2003 -> 2004 sales fell 0.7%

2004 -> 2005 they saw sales go up, after they started taking credit cards.

...and my local TACO BELL had sales increases between double and triple of their CASH ONLY DAYS

Every time I "EAT-IN" at TACO BELL I sit near the PEPSI machine and watch the customers paying in between bites (what else is there to do)

In the short time I was there (less than 30 minutes)...more than 3/4 of the people used plastic

I have never seen less than 50% using plastic on a given day

AND BEFORE ANYBODY TELLS ME HOW CRAPPY THEIR FOOD IS...keep your comments to yourself

(and I don't eat there every day)

I might eat there 3 or 4 times a month

Talking about your own eating habits mb? Taco Bell 3 or 4 times a week? Splurge and go to Burger King the other days?

The grocery store produce department may interest you my friend.

THAT IS DANGEROUS

I was making light of George's love of Taco Bell...

I never touch the stuff, and do my grocery shopping at Whole Foods.

These days almost every business taking credit/debit cards does more sales in credit/debit cards than cash.

Sure, because Electronic payment is a little more convenient than cash.
