First of all congrats on the approvals.

 

You want to at least by one thing from either of them...just so they don't (think about) closing you. It's not like CJ where you MUST buy something and leave a deposit....

 

However, having said that, just buy something and pay the bill in full ASAP. Then you can let the accounts marinate for about 12 months and then go for some big boy CLs on a CC based on where your scores are at.

 

Not to go off topic, but once you are able to get a card that doesn't require a annual fee, kill a card (history irrelevant) that does require it. It's more important for you to have cards with NO AFs when your credit got better then cards for 10 years that you're paying AFs on. Cards with AFs are only good for the rebuilding phase of your credit repair.

Great tip. And I do have a card with an AF and I want to cancel it but after it hits 3 years of age.

 

would future creditors look at it as a $15,300 CL, and give me a $15000 or so card? or will they see it as a $5100 limit and issue one around that level? thats saying I maintain my credit and continue to improve it, ofcourse

What are everyones credit scores like. Are these jewerly stores relaxing their credit approval criterias?

 

 

If so, I'd like to apply not because I'm looking for some expensive pieces. But just to boost my credit scores to show that I have a large amount of credit available to help reduce the debt to income ratio on my credit report.

My credit score are in the dumper right now.

 

But at least they approved me.

 

I got a $400.00 CL to start with. It will only be used as a tool to help raise my credit scores. I got a second chance, not going to blow it.

 

Looks like they are being generous for the holidays.

That's the whole trick! they're all LINKED under the same company (Sterling, their owner). Jared/kays/JBRobinson are all owned by Sterling. If you apply to Kay's, you're guaranteed another $400. but I dont know if theres a certain window to apply, so there may or may not be another inquiry.

I have a Kay card that started off at $1500 22 months ago, they had bumped it to $2400 matching my highest card, HSBC.

 

Applied for Jared approved for $2400 in under 30 minutes, CSR called to verify a few things she was very nice.

 

JB Roberts gave me the 7 day.

 

Some of my low cards will go in 6 months when they hit 2 year mark shifting my limits higher and higher.
