they estimated 53 days though isnt that a little much ? they get 45 right ? so what do i do if they go over 45?

I have 49 if you start from the 18th (day after received) and go to the 5th. I'm not sure why it's 4 days over, maybe holidays, maybe backed up, maybe maybe maybe...

Also, if you call in or send in another dispute they will add another 15 days to this dispute.

I used the free annual on my 1st dispute and it didn't take 45 days. More like 2 1/2 weeks. I know that's not the point just sharing my experience. :)

It doesn't necessarily take 45 days but they have it :D Depending on what OP is having investigated it could be much, much quicker or it could get him right down to the last day.

my bad its aug 5th so that makes it 49 days but still over... trans union deleted all 15 disputes within a week.

man...do you think i screwed myself because i used a free report and gave them that extra 15 days???

just curious if you make a dispute and they vereify or validate or whatever do you think they keep the info just in case you dispute again.?

Well I don't know if you screwed yourself and you won't until the results come in. An extra 15 days is nice though for the furnishers of information.

Also, Hegemony is right, 5 days for mail. So you're right on time with the 45 days.

Newbie question.... do you have to give a report number if you mail disputes? Cant you just say that you recently viewed your credit report?

I sent Experian a dispute on May 30th CMRRR. They signed for it on June 2nd. On June 26th, I received a notice that they expected to complete their "investigation" on July 17, 2009. I received their response today (verified, of course).

So, although they sent you something stating it would be a while, your results may come back sooner than anticipated.

The point of CMRRR is NOT to start a clock ticking...rather, it is to provide a paper trail on a date certain if/when the matter moves to litigation.

The consumer does not get to dictate in teh dispute whether the 30 or 45 day window applies as that is something that will be governed by the type of report that was used to initiate the dispute...

And I am still confused how a June date and August completion equals a three month period of time (other than the obvious that there are dates within June, July and August). The window in question is consistent with the 45+5 application... And let us not forget that rare is the customer who complains about work product arriving prior to the estimated date of completion...but give an earlier date in the beginning and miss that date, and you have a customer who will raise all sorts of hell.

no. for "real" disputes you do not need a report number.
