attempting to pay off med. collections but the letter prescribed by whychat is to be sent to CA's........calgon take me away!!!!!

It is NOT permitted for a health care provider to directly report.

You are probably looking at the name of the hospital which DOES show on YOUR copy of the report, but NOT on anyone else's view.

 

In any case, you are putting the cart before the horse.

You MUST do this first step even though you THINK you know who is reporting and THINK that the amount is accurate and THINK that you want to pay it to the hospital with the HIPAA letter.

I have drafts of dispute letters to CRAs (first step) ready to go but would like to have as many steps prepared as possible. This part of your letter is what is holding me up.

 

"Therefore I am requesting you promptly rescind all such account information furnished to (collection agency) This simple procedure to request the deletion of ALL reference to this account from the records of ( collection agency name) ."

 

Do I put the name that is given on my credit report in the "collection agency" name area?

 

Date of service was December 2006.

It is EXTREMELY DOUBTFUL that the hospital has ANY relationship to the reporting CA, IF the accounts are verified by the CRA's and IF you get a communication from the reporting CA that provides you with account data, you can THEN pay the OC hospital with the HIPAA letter. If you do anything else, you will have accomplished NOTHING in getting this off your reports.

I am guessing the OP is looking at a third party credit site and not directly from a paper copy (or online) with each of the CRA's. When the third party sites populates the name of creditor into the appropriate field, it transfers the CA's name off the field and puts the hospital/provider name in instead.

 

OP, where are you getting the credit report from?

 

If it's not directly from each CRA and preferably off a hard/paper copy, you'll need to order the correct copies in which to work from.

I meant the pre hippa(to the cra's) letters are ready to be sent out (draft? my ignorance..) did not want to send them until I had the second letter ready..believe me I have been studying your formula to remove these TL's for years. if you put me in a torture room and quizzed me on this proccedure I would only lose one finger for the wrong response to "who do you put as collection agency"?....

 

the pre hippas are now printed out, italic /teal font a copy of DL and SS will accompany it. When I receive response will send out second letter, payment will be bank draft typed out by bank to health care provider. I am following your instructions to the letter.. I just suck really bad at communicating online I guess?

No telling, but it's a good sign.

There is no rhyme or reason with CRA's. It could be verified by the other two, so don't get your hopes up too high. Just take the successes as you go and keep on keepin' on!

What if I dont get communication from reporting CA?

The next step is to send the medical DV to the reporting CA, wait until you have heard from Eq. as you will be sending one medical DV for EACH CRA to the CA in the same envelope CMRR;

No you do NOT send a "a copy of the CRAs verification along with the DV?".

 

You send JUST the medical DV, it is the REPORTING that is possibly/probably invalid, at this point your really have NO confirmation of any actual bill or charge from the OC.

As soon as you have the green card back from the medical DV you send each CRA that has verified, a copy of THEIR medical DV letter, copy of the green card ( one green card for BOTH letters mailed in the SAME envelope to the CA) and the cover letter/re-dispute.
