Hello MCA. I've missed you since the other site went down. I forgot my screen name there. Shame.

 

Okay, so here is a new one for you...

 

Western Sun Federal Credit Union in Tulsa. You can also use their shared branches as well. :0

 

Tyler and I opened an account there with $5.00. We were turned down for the checking account but approved for the savings. They also added the business name to the savings account so we could throw checks in there from our company.

 

The only reason I joined this bank is because they offer a secured visa card. Guaranteed approval with no fees, just pay your deposit.

 

They made the comment that Chexsystems is a great thing because it lets them know if we have bad checks outstanding. I laughed and said yeah, I have about 24 outstanding but I didn't write them. Kinda got into an arguing match with her. She shut up when we made our deposit. 10k works wonders.

lol chexsystems is a great thing, yes I guess some people do think that. I believe the idea behind is was originally a good one but it has definitely hurt a lot of good people

It's impossible to educate bankers. They think they know it all. Seriously, they are people who have no idea what is going on.

It's not all bankers. But I know that there are some that use chexsystems and have no idea how it actually works. There are a few times here and there that I have taken the time to email them and question them on policies pertaining to chex and they are definitely lost. The part I don't get it that why anyone would utilize a systems that helps them to determine something as important as turning away customers and not know the ins and outs to it completely.

 

I have found so so many banks and credit unions that use chexsystems and report bad customers to chexsystems believe that when they report the customer has paid the debt owed, the report is then removed. Of course we all know that this is not true but they truly believe it to be. They do not realize that chexsystems will simply mark the record as paid but the report remains.
