Pinto is in Vegas, but that's still no reason to work for an employer as sleazy as Household

Breeze, what does "G" stand for?

Now that I know how Czar feels about Household, what about B of A?

P.S. I like "sleazy," that's why I live in Vegas

G stands for the major insurance company I work for - the one with the little lizard that talks and drives the convertible.... I try not to make posts about them with the name in them too often cause they maybe run bots looking for their name on the web. I don't want a lot of attention, hehe. Rather keep a low profile.

BTW, they are opening a center in Tucson right now. some of my buds are going there to train people. G is great to work for. :)

pinto... if you ask me, I'd pick HH... We already have Robin Bricklin in BofA to accomodate reasonable requests :-)

If you go work in HH, can you PLEEEEEEASE increase my CL from $7,500 to $75,000???

Huh? we take apps on people driving less than two years. What state? Any accidents or tickets? Were you licensed in another country, perhaps?

Posted

New York State.

1 or 2 accidents, niether my fault. (one was in a Car Wash, the "car Dryer" shattered my car windsheild), one accident, I was given 90% "Right".

I have been driving for just over two years now...

When I called I was licensed for a year or so.

Does G pull a CR? a Hard?

I'm looking into employment at either of these two companies...

I'd like to here any feedback you might have on them.

Thanks 8)

A few years back I had a job where I was always on the phone with the Household people in Vegas. I worked for a motorcycle dealer and since we were trying to get people large credit lines in the 5-20K range, I had to get manual approval often (In one case the approval required a Vice-President's signature!).

I don't know anything about the working conditions there but I can give you my impressions from the other end of the phone. First off, I usually talked to the same group or reps every time. Apparently Household organizes the call center so reps work only with one brand of card (In my case it was the Yamaha credit card, then they had a separate group for Best Buy, and so on.) Genererally reps were professional, friendly and relaxed. Sometimes you could tell they were busy. Occaisionally you could tell they were getting hammered. But a "bad attitude" that could indicate poor working conditions seemed very rare. One time a Household regional guy came by just to check in and we were talking about this stuff, and he said that the people in Vegas enjoyed it when the people they dealt with on the other end of the phone came to visit, and he encouraged me to visit the call center next time I was in Vegas. I never ended up going, but the fact that they offered so openly led me to believe that they have a good attitude about things that could indicate a high quality workplace.

--edit-- After reading the entire thread a little more carefully, I guess my opinion is in the minority. The people I dealt with were actually rather far up the decision making ladder, I rarely talked to the front-line consumer reps who deal with the actual cardholders, so that could be a whole different world, I guess.
