After getting my 15 month old $400 secured visa account unsecured with CLI to $1000, I further pushed my luck and applied for the Platinum Cashback visa, the best card on their website.

 

Instant online decline. But thanks to CB I wasnt going to give up. I don't deserve it.

 

I called the credit card underwriting dept at 1-800-947-1444 this morning and a gentlemen picked up the phone. He told me the computer turned down the application due to my 2 Crap1 unpaid CO however he will "have an analyst do a manual review". I almost said ok and hang up. But suddenly I was like "wait ain't I calling the underwriting department? If he has so much information on the application he must be someone that can influence the decision of the application himself".

 

So there I started to tell him EVERYTHING about my credit and how hard I have been trying to rebuild my credit. I told him about CB, about the things I learned, about how HARD it is to deal with Crap1, about how bad Crap1 is for charging all the fees and make my charged off balance triple the credit limit, about how worse will my score be if I pay that balance and have them reage everything, about how I opened secured cards and used them responsibly, about how excited I was to see my fico jump to 706 from 498.......

 

I impressed him, obviously. He told me I was approved for the Platinum Cashback card with a limit of

 

$5000

 

That's the highest unsecured major cc limit for me in two years. I am really in with PRIME.

 

Can't wait to share this story with you guys. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

 

I highly recommend US Bank to everyone seeking a secured card. This is a bank that is willing to listen to you and help you. You can't go wrong with them!

Congrats! Be sure to read the terms when you get the card. I have the sister Elan card that carries a hefty 20.79% APR.

 

Lol thanks I won't even care if they give me 20.79%. It's not like I'm going to charge up $5000 and make min payment with a high APR. I'm too wise for that kind of mistake now. :clapping: Plus I do get 0% intro APR for 6 months and 1% cashback.
