Yeah, I saw that. Last year, I got a speeding ticket (columbus, Ohio) and he didnt get me on radar and did a visual.....I talk to my attorney and he said its wrong, but it would be cheaper to pay the $100 so I did... I thought its up to the state, cops, etc to prove. Visual to me, isnt proof. I could see this going to Federal courts at some point.

I beleive it is the new laws the current congress passed. My understanding is it is income contingent. I think if you make little or near poverty the payment cannot be more the 15% of your disposible income. After 20 years if the loan isnt repaid, the rest if forgiven. This is only for GOV loans though, not PRIVATE. It would be wise to check out all of the new information out there. My loans are about to go into repayment and I took a little class on all of this, but I cant remeber all of the stuff about it.
