Move to a state where you won't need the heat. I live in South Texas and RARELY use it. We have an all electric home as well. No gas needed. Plus, Texas economy has fared better than Michigan. No state income tax either.

Has Anyone Had Their Mortgage Financing Fall Through?
BigManinTX replied to LisaH's topic in Mortgages
Cried. -
Looks like there are 15 states that are not scammers. Your state is a scammer...so is mine.

Is the car drivable now? Move to a state with no safety or vehicle emissions testing. States without safety or emissions inspections * Alabama * Arkansas * Florida * Idaho (Ada County has a county level program that requires testing) [27] * Iowa * Kansas * Kentucky * Michigan * Minnesota * Montana * North Dakota * Oklahoma * South Carolina * South Dakota * Wyoming

House Being Sold Tomorrow
BigManinTX replied to homebound's topic in Foreclosures/Loan Modifications
Did it sell? Maybe he's already been kicked out and can't post? -
They recently took both mine and my wife's drivers license for our test drive. Dealer knew we were both going to be driving, but no credit check. To be fair, they also knew that we were serious.....and we did end up buying that Mazda CX9.

Refinance Auto Now, or wait until new mortgage?
BigManinTX replied to terrellisaiah's topic in Mortgages
Are you upside-down in the vehicle? Also, car may be too old/too many miles for refinance. -
Why? The rest of us pay our taxes. You have to as well. I'm not helping anyone try to skate, so that the rest of us eventually have to pitch in even more. Pay your taxes!!!

They asked for my SS...so maybe they tried to do a hard pull on me...but got nothin'. All locked. I figured they could try a soft too...but Marv says no. I paid for the car with some cash (airline mile credit card)...and the rest with a CU check. They don't need to pull it anyway. I didn't take the car with me (having a DVD installed, tinting etc..)..by the time I take delivery, the CU check will have cleared.

Congrats on your new car. Yes this issue of dealerships pulling credit reports is a dead horse. Just so that you know, the way I handle dealership pulls is: Get pre-approved from your CU/Lending Institution Lock all 3 credit reports Go to the dealer to buy your car The dealership can STILL do a soft pull but they wont be doing any hard pulls. Honestly, I keep all 3 of my reports LOCKED all the time. I only unlock them long enough to apply for credit then immediately re-lock whichever one is needed to by a potential lender. [At one point in my past, my ex-wife was applying for credit using my SSN] Good luck This is exactly what I just did.

Approved with Penfed,USAA and RBFCU (Randolph-Brooks Federal) Accepted RBFCU at 3.70%. Asked for 30K..they said I could have more...but I don't want to spend that much. They gave me a "vehicle purchase check". Amount and signature is completed at the dealer. After the check clears, RBFCU will call and finalize the loan (in terms of months and payment.. up to 66 months). Interest rate is locked at 3.70% on a new or used car...doesn't matter (we usually buy a 1 yr old car with less than 20K miles on it). I thought this was a pretty good loan deal, and they're local here in San Antonio. Wife likes the Mazda CX-9 ...so we're going to look at those and the Hyundai Santa Fe/Veracruz.
