Congrats! You deserve the improved scores.

Some credit card issuers don't report AU's, so it depends. Other scoring models don't factor in AU accounts, so it depends. Lots of variables at work here, so it depends.....

DCU has a secured VISA card. Does anyone know: If they require a checking account for their secured VISA? If they use Chex for new secured VISA cards? Which CR do they pull most often? I checked MCA's web site, and did a comprehensive search on this forum. No hits, using the searches I used. I also checked their web site, and still can't find an answer. It is Sunday, and they are not answering. I'll update this thread tomorrow with the results.

TCF National Bank, no credit check, no ChexSystems

Interesting, but none of this matters to me, except the POS fees. None of the other fees will ever matter to me. Western Union? Bill pay? Why? -
It is certainly possible. Have considered calling them?

Do you have anything reporting yet? You might be able to get a Macy's store card at this point. Do NOT apply online. You can also read this series of threads, many of which mention secured cards. Click here

That's not the best way to go about it, in my opinion. Paying 20% of the ever increasing minimum, without a special arrangement, will cause more issues than you know. As hege says, they will be forced to write it off unless certain conditions are met. Some of these companies may be willing to negotiate with you for the next few months, depending on how it has been since you've made any significant payments. You may be able to stay the effects if you contact the right department in each company. Have you contacted each company and asked about any available hardship offers?

Don't do anything until you understand everything on this PFD thread authored by Stryker

I can see why you bumped this. It has some important perspectives within it.

Many years ago when they were just getting started they used to offer a lot for free. Like drug pushers, though, they changed that once they got popular.

' The whole point in the new law (at least this section) is to keep dates from ever changing " randomly ", so they will remain constant, the same day every month. CC issuers were using the situation to make extra money in too many situations. So after the law change, if your due date is the 8th, it will be the 8th until and unless you change it.

Are you talking about efax? That is far and away the most popular of that type of web site faxing service. I have used it. You edit, yes. They have a very comprehensive description of how things work on their web site, efax.com.

The core problem with your account has been security. We don't want to be setting up a fraudulent account at a high limit and sending huge amounts of products to someone other than the correct person: hence, the detailed security questions to verify your identity, and our need to complete those questions before shipping any products.

The results of disputes to the CRA's are rarely, if ever, that precise for closed accounts. In most all situations you can get it deleted from EQ and EX, but not corrected as it reads on TU. It is possible, just highly unlikely, for a closed account.
