I bought a car from Carvana in 2019 and the entire buying experience was exactly what Carvana claims it is. It was a breeze and the best car buying experience I have ever had by a LOT. Fast forward to 2022……wow things have changed…… I ended up trading in the original car and Carvana took possession of that vehicle in May 2022. I then spent the next five months living in Carvana hell where they literally screwed up EVERY step in the process. I spent countless hours on the phone screaming and yelling for EVERY step. The first two cars had problems and I gave them back. I finally kept the third car but the whole process was still a nightmare from beginning to end. While dealing with all of the chaos, I didn’t realize that Carvana never paid off my original loan. It just went unpaid until I realized the error in November 2022. After some more screaming on the phone it was finally paid in December 2022. Now I have six months of late payments for a loan that shouldn’t have been open. I disputed but it came back verified which is what I expected. How should I deal with this? Technically, from the car loan company perspective, those payments were late. Should I be asking Carvana to work this out with the car loan company? The thought of another six months on the phone with these people is making me nauseous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi, I had a judgement that I didn't go to court and it was entered by default. Then suddenly a few months ago the CA filed a motion to vacate the judgement. Why would they do this? They had already won. This judgement never appeared on my reports. I could see it online on the court website.

I need to refinance my terrible loan with Bridgecrest. I started by paying off $2000 in credit card debt on cards that are currently open. This caused my Vantage score to DROP 26 points to 564 and FICO dropped 4 points to 561. I can't refinance with a number like that. The most recent baddie on my report is from early 2019. I had a 30 day late with Bridgecrest. I simply forgot to pay it. UGH!!! Equifax is reporting the 30 day late in January. TU and EX are reporting it in February. I don't want to simply dispute it and have them fix it. I would like it to go away. Has anyone had any luck with goodwill letters to Bridgecrest?

The Japanese part didn't matter. I just didn't want the say the name but was trying to allude to who the lender was. Honestly, I didn't realize there was a Honda Auto Finance. I am pretty sure that there are lenders who are more likely to sue than others. That was all I was saying. The credit report shows "Charge-off" and the last update was February 2016. Whychat shows this: So 4 years applies to this situation?

I have a bunch of lousy cards at the moment. Cap One Quicksliver Cap One Secured First Premiere (this will be the first one to close when the time comes) Indigo Credit One OpenSky (secured) I also have a loan with Bridgecrest which I need to get out of. Interest rate is super high. Total loan was $13,587. I have paid a total of $5687 since April 2019. I still owe a balance of $12,648. It's absurd. I need to get my score to refinance it. I had some card balances. I just paid them off and will have $0 balances reporting soon. I need to start disputing.

I have a friend who went through some troubled times. His car was totaled five years ago through no fault of his own. Someone else was driving. He wasn't even there. Because my friend was going through such a tough time, he never filed a claim for the car. He still owed $15K on this vehicle through a certain Japanese car makers auto finance division. It shows up on his credit report as a Charge-Off. How likely is it that the Japanese car maker auto finance division may sue him at this point? Anything else he needs to consider?

Hi, I used to be fairly active in this group many years ago (I joined in 2007). I was very successful at cleaning up my credit report back then. I successfully removed every negative item and I couldn't have done it without the help of this group. I used to laugh at the people who would post that they are cleaning up their credit for the SECOND time. I used to think, "what kind of an idiot would let this happen twice?' Well.........here I am. Due to lots of circumstances, I ruined my credit for a second time. The difference this time is that I feel confident that I can fix it. Most of the items will be falling off in 2022 anyway. I have already started reading the PsychDoc and I will be on my way! Anyway, I remember there used to be a couple of ways to effectively "buy"a trade line. I think there was a jewelry store in Texas where you could buy a cheap but overpriced piece of jewelry and they would report it to TU. I think there was also the Chevron (?) card that would pretty much approve anyone but it wouldn't report until you bought something. We don't have Chevron where I live so I remember I had to use the card at some online bakery in order to get the card to report. I am pretty sure that neither one of those options exist anymore. Are there any equivalents to this in 2020?

DMVs Are Selling Your Data to Private Investigators
aadam101 replied to hegemony's topic in Credit Forum
I actually experienced something related to this earlier this evening. I filled out an application to refinance my car and when I entered the plate number, the lender had access to all of the data on the car. I was wondering if that also gave them access to my personal data. I had already given it to them anyway at that point. I live in MA and we have an AG who takes privacy very seriously so I am surprised they would give this data to banks. -

This morning I logged onto Mint and noticed my Macy's balance was much lower than it should be. This didn't make any sense so I logged onto Macy's on my phone only to see a zero balance and a closed account. I could clearly see my last 4 digits of my account number at the top. I realized that every time I refresh the page I saw a completely different balance and even the card would change from red to gold to Amex on every refresh. I hate to think what would happen if I actually tried to make a payment since they are clearly showing me other peoples account balances. I thought about calling but I have never been able to get any answers out of them that wasn't written on a script.
