  1. The Knology collection + The TIC one tells me exactly where you are. Be careful posting that kinda info. Knology: They are iffy. I got them removed via FCRA violations years ago. TIC: I have to say it will be VERY difficult, but doable. I wish you all the luck in the world.
  2. I'd try Nationwide next. They mainly pull TU.
  3. Do ALL lenders look at ONLY the FICO score? Yes. For mortgages, FICO is the gold standard.
  4. I'm not convinced that there is a common thread. I flushed them and pulled my money out and moved it to NFCU. I don't see how DCU calls themselves a "credit union" anymore.
  5. nacho, util is lower than it's been over the six years than I have had the card. The only thing that has changed on a larger scale is my income is way higher, and my scores are ~100 points higher now than they were then.
  6. Same letter received here today... same story, same song & dance from DCU. Oh well. NFCU already replaced them easily. Funny though, DCU gave me a CLI 3 months ago when I sent in new paystubs. I just wanted the higher income on file and they bumped my card $2k higher.
  7. I don't think you understand the way things work esp on mortgage situations out there. Also I had said I was trying to avoid a BK... please focus on the questions I have asked not try to be Mr. Morality. Ignore responses that you don't agree with and move on. You asked for help in an open forum, I honestly don't understand why people ask for help and then complain because it doesn't address everything that they've asked for or it isn't what they want to hear. It ain't Christmas, and I see no one here named Santa Claus. Coming to a D-I-Y Credit based forum and explaining how you want to willfully wreck your good credit is a little like asking Billy Graham to show you how to be an Athiest. It just doesn't make sense. Don't take it personal.......he's like that on other boards he frequents.
  8. That's strange... Alliant outright denied me for a CC, yet DCU gave me a very generous CLI the same day after Alliant denied me.... DCU has been good to me for 6 years now.
  9. I'd be on my way back right now to skin him from head to toe, there'd be nothing left for the vultures......
  10. You'd best be getting down to the nearest store and get yourself a lotto ticket too!
  11. I waited and just recently got the DX. I was holding on for native PDF and Word doc support, and the DX has it. I absolutely LOVE mine. My DW and I read a LOT more now that we have it. By far the best "toy" purchase I've done in years.
  12. update: Just called and the CSR immediately reinstated the CL to the original amount after asking a few questions re: Income & Job info.
  13. Had the Amazon Visa since November of 2008, limit was $3200 (one of my lowest limits). I have always paid the balance in full except for a few times I did that to let Chase make a bit off of me interest wise, trying to "play nice". I PIF a few weeks ago, and now a few minutes ago I get an email notice stating that my statement is ready. I login and owe ~$20, and then see my limit is $400 now.... Dubya Tee Eff? I immediately pay the ~$20 in full and call...... Indian "Roy" said I'd have to call back tomorrow, the "department" that can explain why is only open from 8am to 8pm EST. I'm planning on calling tomorrow and unleashing my wrath upon them. Since I got the Chase Amazon card, the only changes to my reports are: Navy FCU Platinum Visa $15k opened. I paid off 60% of my total revolving debt since then as well. I used my Amazon card for all my Amazon.com purchases, and they are quite a few. If they won't reinstate it, I'm not bluffing. I will close it immediately, proceed to "wipe" with it, and mail it back to them. I am just PO'ed about the games that they play. Amex has been nice to me in the light of the "credit crisis". I haven't had any AA from Amex or anyone else, and I figured Amex would before Chase would. Good grief.
  14. Glad to hear it, congrats I tried Alliant, denied for the Visa. Funny thing is, Navy FCU approved me right after that for the Platinum Visa for $15k @10.9% and DCU gave me a $5k CLI to $10k at 8.5%. I guess Alliant didn't like me for some reason or another
