Pleasant Surprise

Okay, so before I knew what and who they were I made the mistake of accepting a Credit One card 2 months ago. First thing I did was pay off the annual fee then sock drawer it with a zero balance. Got a pleasant surprise today: they automatically increased the CL by $100 and I never asked. I am certain to induce me to use the card (not gonna happen) but still helps my overall credit usage go down.

 

Second wonderful surprise: my CreditKarma updated and a negative fell off TU but I can't log into TU and find out which one. So now there is only ONE negative on TU!!! Woo Hoo.

You do realize Credit One is a Sherman Company owned card? You are buying into one of the nastiest JDBs around. Drop it lt like a person with the plague..... LVNV, Resurgant, etc.

I let it check for pre-approval and it said it didnt find any but i seen what resembled a decline letter on the right hand side... do they offer a non secured product that i had it review me for or something? ... Confused...

Found that out too late. To close it now would be damaging to a credit file in repair and on the way up. It has a zero balance and is in the sock drawer. Once the year expires and the annual fee kicks in again I will cancel it.

AF ~ $70. The pre-approval link works if they sent you an offer in the mail saying they had an offer waiting for you. Their card is non-secured with a toy limit but I imagine even a bottom feeder like them does have consumers they reject. I would NOT recommend getting this card with them and if I could do it over again would not have done it but the bell can't be unrung now.
