I have received a bill from a healthcare provider and a CA for the same bill. Here is the issue. They filed it with my previous insurance. I called and told the OC to refile with my current insurance before this even goes on my report. However, my current insurance surely is going to deny it for not filing in a timely manner. Doesn't that make me not responsible for the bill? What do I do? I haven't started the HIPPA process fully just yet but I have opted out and deleted as many addresses as they are willing to delete.

 

Also how do I prove that certain procedures were not done? It was a surgery and technically I would not know what was or wasn't done but this was a C Section so I was awake and aware and no tissues had to be sent to pathology.

June of 2012 I had a baby via C-Section. They should have had my current insurance information that was listed with the hospital! I can't see how they didn't but every other medical provider for that day did.

Check your EOMBs to make sure that they were paid, or if they did not file, send the HIPAA letter insert "b" 2 with the correct data for them to file their claim.

They weren't paid because of the incorrect filing. Hopefully my insurance won't reject because of it being past the time limit.
