So from what I've read around the net sometimes chexsystems removes negative info once you file for bankruptcy.. I faxed over the document today. If they were to remove it any one here know the time frame I should wait before checking with them?

They just did this for me. Except I mailed everything. It's been over two weeks and heard nothing. Called them up and they said the entrys were removed. I just so happened to receive a letter confirming the same a day later. So I guess they are just a little slow. I would say three days after you fax you should be good.

 

 

Personally I would call every day lol

Just wanted to update that it does work!!! I got my letter today " Please be advised that based on the bankruptcy filing, the information listed above has been removed from your customer file at Chexsystems " !!!! I'm so glad I'm finally off!! I had two accounts on the one with WAMU which fell off earlier this year after five years and unfortunately Wachovia reported me in 2010 for a stupid move on my part on some NSF activity but now thats been removed.. I'm glad that off my record now and I get a fresh start with banking too!!

Chexsystems does have a department that deal with those that have filed a bankruptcy

 

You need to simply fax over the document you received when you filed (you don't have to wait for discharge papers). It shows the date of filing, the case number, the trustee and judge, etc The fax number is 602-659-2197

I am new to the forums and came across this website while searching for chexsystem free banks since I was recently DENIED for a ING Orange account :( .... Needless to say, I am post BK 7/12 and NEVER knew that I could get chex systems to remove all those reports.Same as other posters, I want to start fresh and closed all my other accounts as well but the first bank I tried to open an account with declined me instantly due to chexsystems...

 

It's 1am on a SUNDAY (I know... lol) but I just faxed over my discharge and trustee papers to the numbers listed above. Guess I will find out if it worked for me too! Oh, and question... How long should I wait before trying to apply for another bank account? So far there should only be one inquiry. The last bad account was in 2008 but apparently I still have something on the report to get denied. I also plan on calling EWS on Monday and try to deal with them. Should I wait about 30days before trying for another bank account?

I have heard it varies from a few days up to 30 days

I faxed over my info on 12/26 and called them today just to see if they recieved my fax. The lady said I had to wait 10 business days before she could even tell me if they received the fax! HTH.

Has anyone had success using this technique with EWS? They are a real piece of work.

Yes some have reported that they were able to be removed but others were not. I am not sure what the difference was but they do have to report only accurate information so at the very least they need to show that no money is owed

I just wanted to say that thanks to this board I too was able to get ALL of my Chexsystems entries removed. I faxed over my notice of filing last Wednesday, called today and they said everything was removed and my noticed was mailed to me yesterday!
