Needs Sams Card - Anyone apply recently?

I have a $10k Costco line and use it very often but Costco is a journey away. In the past I applied for Sams Club and was denied so I went with Costco. I am getting ready to apply again for the Sams Discover or Store Card. Anyone have any recent experience with them?

they seem like they want to lend, but I was denied becuase I answered one of there security quesions about my auto loan!

They would not reconsider!

I had the Sam's club business card. Limit was up to $20K with no PG. I was trying to get the Sam's Discover w/o PG but the underwriter said they needed to see more usage. Fast forward to the first financial collapse and GE sends me a letter that due to economic conditions they're reducing our line to $5k. I called them and told them that since they were having such financial troubles that they could keep the $5k and close the account. They didn't seem to care much and neither did I

 

If you want it be prepared to PG the account. The Discover card will likely require a 720+ FICO. In my opinion there are better options.

Was denied... Will call UW tomorrow to see if I can get an approval. I did not fill out PG part on application so I am sure that is why I was probably denied.

Called UW and they said they could not do anything for me at this time. Application is still in pending and not actually denied yet so we will wait a few days and call back. They tell me they cant do a manual review until the system spits out a result.. Sounds strange to me but that is what they told me.

Everything about GE is strange. They seem to rely heavily on the 'system', no amount of nagging will get your app in front of a real underwiriter. Thier underwriting department is a total farse

those cards you need to apply in person....fill out the application in the store and wait for the answer....good times

No, I did not fill out the PG section. I will call back in a few days. Looks like they pulled another Equifax on Monday, Strange that they did the automaticl pull last week whenI applied and they pulled again yesterday.

use to be that you could get this card without a pg......can others confirm that you need to pg the discover card?

i have never had luck with GE...Citi was better for us...but GE that is another story

Called and they denied us. They said we need to PG and they WILL pull personal. All our personal bureaus are frozen so they can not pull our personal. They ran us for the Discover and it was denied by the system and there was no UW involvement, They said after I receive the denial letter to call back and they will re-run for just the store card. Not sure why he could not do it right there but I will wait for the decline letter and call back.

Funny... Got my decline letter (Finally) called UW and they tell me it was a system decline but because its more than 3 weeks old that cant open the file to manually review it. He tells me I need to re-apply again. What a joke... They hit my Equifax twice when I applied and now they want me to apply again so I can get another Equifax inquiry. Original application had a bad phone number. It was not the phone number I put on the application so I dont know where the customer service rep came up with it.

Well based on my conversation with the underwriter a few weeks ago I applied once again last night. Instantly denied as I expected since we only put in an application only 1 month ago so it was auto denied. Called underwriting this morning and they manually looked over my application, pulled an EQ Business & Probably D&B and came back and said we were approved for $5000. I was so excited to finally get approved I did not ask if it was the Discover or Store Card. I will wait till the cards come and see which they gave me.

Similar situation with one of our companies. Never had an issue getting the Sams Warehouse Card or any GE backed card for that matter until last month. Got declined in store for a new business (3 years old). DNB had nice limits perfect everything and I knew that EQ was empty....so they should have gone to EQ saw nothing and defaulted to DNB and came back with the approval.

 

Move Forward....called UW while in the store and advised that the decision was based on EQ and negative info, I was like UMMM NO.....

 

Contacted EQ and they say they will send me the free report and I can dispute it.

 

Never got it from EQ, searched EQ found this company crossed up with another company name. Called EQ they deleted the entry immediately.

 

Called UW back and said they couldnt access the original app any longer. Said to wait til after the 1st so that it would not create an auto denial due to still being in the system. Says it was beyond the time that they have to manually review it.....

 

Need to reapply soon.....

I will use it heavily to get the line to grow with me. $5000 is not a high limit considering I have many $10k and $15k lines (Around 8 of them) but since I did not PG I was surprised they did not give me the store card. It took 3 applications and a manual review from underwriting to get it approved.
