As I've mentioned in other threads I'm attacking a Collection Agency for my sister.

I'm orchestrating this from 5,000 Miles away but the internet eliminates that barrier.

I sent out a brief, concise DV letter to them and she just got the green card back in the mail. Now it's time for me to approach the CRA's.

Do these letters need to be sent CMRRR or should I instruct her to simply send them with a licked stamp?

Also if anyone has a link to how these letters should roughly be worded that would be appreciated.

Thanks

Still working on the Christmas present?

Your sister really needs to be involved in this. Just b/c you make it disappear once doesn't mean it won't come back again.

I used to do all letters CMRRR but it can get pretty expensive

CMRRR

I suggest she also include one photocopy with her three pieces of ID... so there are no silly "we don't know who you are" delays from the CRAs. Drivers license, copy of utility bill in sisters name, voter id, car registration, etc

Yup still working on the Christmas present. Slow moving.. had to wait for the dunning letter after the call, then had to send out the DV, then had to wait for the green card.. The mail isn't the quickest where she lives in NC.

I'll start searching for some samples now.

I've been poking around and really haven't been able to find any definite template letters. I've never been really good with the search engine on this site.

I have all three reports, pulled today.

Can I simply use the MyFICO.com dispute engine and include the simple phrase "Incorrect information reporting. Please validate"

(I have an account I can copy and paste a template from and use)

I personally always do CM but not RR because I have no desire to end up in "special handling."

You really don't need a template. Just list the accounts that are wrong, the fact that you dispute the info, and the reason for your dispute.

I've also heard of people sending a copy of their report, numbering and circling the problem accounts, and explaining by number in an accompanying letter. I've never tried that method so can't vouch for it.

There's only one account on all three reports, different names but the same collection agency. (Operating out of the same address)

The thing is I looked at Jacks thread and saw all the different reasons for dispute, but I'm not sure what I should argue as this company does have the legal right to try and collect. I wouldn't want to just throw frivolous reasons their way and get my dispute ignored.

I've never ended up in special handling... and I've sent probably over 100 disputes to the CRAs via CMRR

but honestly, the moment I post this..... my luck will probably change
