I live in Kansas and received a call from this collection agency on Wednesday, no message left, but I am curious as to what I should do if they continue to call, I am leery of speaking with them on the phone, I have an idea as to what the debt is, however, I don't want to talk to them and accidentally say something I shouldn't. Has anyone every dealt with this agency or any ideas as to what I should do? Thanks

Thanks a bunch, what all can I put in the letter?

Here's one that I recently sent NCO who's been calling me non stop since Thursday no messages.

To Whom it May concern:

I have received several phone calls from Nco Financial starting Thursday November 19th, 2009 however no messages have been left, nor have I received any written communication regarding any debts that may reside with your office.

At this time, I would like to inform you that all communication must be done in writing. No phone calls may be made to me at any time either at home, work, relatives or any other number that you may have of me, this also includes auto dialers, as it is inconvenient for me to accept phone calls.

Sincerely,

Posted

Thanks, I plan on getting the letter sent on Tuesday, I hope they are cooperative and send me something in the mail, although I am unemployed so it's hard to try and pay things off lol.

How did you approach dealing with them? I am going to send a letter Tuesday inquiring what the debt is, then if they provide it, i'll ask for validation (hopefully in this process i'll have a new job lol), are you on a payment arrangement, settlement etc (sorry if i'm being personal, i'm just trying to figure out the best course of action) Thanks a bunch in advance

The best course of action is to send the unknown debt letter. Then let the CA dig their own hole. Dont over think this............... They are truly "that stupid."

I payed the OC as a step in the HIPPA process because it was medical. They didn't make any effort to contact me before or after I found them on my report. Still waiting on the results of the HIPPA (insert a) letter.

I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their help, I have just one more question. I have been out of work since July, thus making it harder to pay down debt. What happens if I tell a debt collector that i'm out of work? I'm just curious as to what they may do, thanks.

They will tell you to borrow from family and friends, do a payday loan, or sell your belongings including any children or elderly parents. I've heard of them telling people to go sell there blood and giving the address of the closest plasma bank!
