In June of this year my husband fell at work walking from one building to another and hurt his ankle. He followed company procedure, filed the paperwork required with his employer, and went to the doctor requested.

He has been receiving bills from the incident with requests for him to pay. He has spoken several times with his employers workmans comp liason and he keeps telling my husband that it has been taken care of.

He just received another bill and spoke to someone in the billing department at the hospital. They said it hasn't been paid and will shortly be reported on hubby's CR as a collection account. Hubby explained that it was a workmans comp issue.

Can they do this? How can they report it on his CR if he isn't responsible for the debt?

What do we need to do to resolve this before it gets reported?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You need to obtain proof of payment from the WC carrier. If they do not provide it state that you will file a complaint with the State WC Board.
