Is it ok for me to send all of my medical accouts in one letter?

How many are you talking about? But normally yes, you can send your medical collections in one dispute letter.

Above I posted a response about how many medical collections on each report. I have anywhere from 9 to 16 and wondered if I could do all in one dispute or if I should break them up and do only so many at a time.

Are you saying you have 9-16 DIFFERENT medical collections on each report??

How old are they??

You DO understand that the HIPAA process requires you to PAY fully verified medical accounts to the OC health care provider.

I would suggest that you dispute ONLY those medical accounts that are either OLD, ( over 4 years old) or that you can afford to pay if verified.

Make sure you opt out and delete old addresses FIRST before disputing anything.

Tu has 9 med collections, Ex has has 15 and EQ has 16. Only one med collection is within SOL and that will be up in July of this year. And if I have to I am prepared to fork over the money for the bills to the OC.

I see no problem with listing them ALL on one medical dispute letter to each CRA.

Make sure you number them in the order they appear on each report and use the information from each report to identify them.

Have you opted out and deleted old addresses?

Do you have OTHER non medical derogatory accounts on your reports? If so, wait until you get results from your medical dispute letter before doing any other type of dispute. :blush2:

I am all opted out and am working on getting addresses deleted from EX. EQ deleted all and I have one left to go on TU. I have a few non meds on there and am not too worried about them yet. I would really just like to get these meds off because there are so many.

Just an update and to keep all my stuff in one thread....

On May 25 all three CRAs received my pre hipaa letters and I included all of my med accounts in a blanket dispute.

EQ has marked 4 of the 14 medical accounts as consumer disputes - reinvestigation in progress. Of these 4, 3 are already paid med collections.

TU has blocked access to my credit report through the web site that lets you get your free credit report so now I know those accounts are under investigation.

Ex shows nothing under investigation.

I am crossing my fingers for good results.

Yes, please keep us informed!

I need to do the same steps for my husband and our situation seems similar to yours - old medical bills that are outside the SOL and should have been paid by the insurance anyways.

So today I check my reports and EQ has removed 8 MED Collections. :clapping: I had 14 and now I am down to 6. EQ also updated 4 (3 of these are paid FYI) of the collections to show a new reported date of 5/2007 and 3 of the accounts have been left alone. It still has been less than a week since they received my letter. But this is way faster than I expected to see anything happen.

Still nothing on the EX or TU but thats ok I can wait out the 35 days.

Ok I got the classic letter from EX stating they have already investigated and verified the items. They sent me nothing about the information I have requested? Do I still wait out the full 35 days or now do I file a complaint with the FTC and resend my pre-hipaa dispute letter?

Wait the full 35 days before filing the FTC complaint and redisputing with Ex.

I got my results from EQ today and the results are 8 collections deleted and the rest they said are verified. No data that I requested. So I will wait until July 1st and then file an FTC complaint and send another pre-hipaa.

I have received all of my results back from the 3 CRAs TU and EX basically said verfied and EQ deleted a bunch, but I did not receive any information from either the CRAs or the CAs. I am going to wait for aboutn 5 more days to give them the 5+ days for mail, but I pretty much know they are done. So now I file a complaint with the FTC and then send another med dispute letter with a copy of my FTC complaint?

Are any of the ones Eq. "left" ones that you received ANY recent communication on from either the CA or OC??

Yes, file the FTC complaints but wait about 10 days and recheck your reports directly from each CRA.

You do not need to send the same medical dispute letter again with your redispute, just refer to your dispute letter of xx/xx/xxxx certified mail received by them xx/xx/xxxx and include your copy of your filed FTC complaint.

This time have it properly typed and send it CMRR as it MAY have to be used as a basis for an ITS.

Is there letter ok for my FTC complaint. Im a little unsure of what to write in my complaint. I figure I can send a similar letter for all 3 CRAs because they all did the same thing.

On 5/22/2007 I submitted a dispute to Experian asking for proper verification of some unknown medical debts that were reporting. It was received by Experian on 5/25/2007. I asked that they provide information about the original creditor, the date and type of service, and to whom the service was provided. I wanted to check my own records so I could verify that I indeed did owe this debt.

On 6/2/2007 I received a letter from Experian stating that they had previously verified the information. The sent me none of the information that I had requested. Experain is now in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I request that appropriate action be taken to require compliance.

I have filed my FTC complaints and am working on some letters to the CRAs. Here is my letter to EX, does the wording look ok? Thanks for any help in advanced I really appreciate it.

Dear Experian,

My name is Monica, my social security number is xxxxxxxx.

I am sending this certified mail ######## to make sure you receive it.

On 5/25/2002 you received a letter from me requesting information about some unknown medical collections on my Experian credit report. My report number is #### for your reference. The accounts included in the letter were xxxxxxxx. On 6/2/2007 I received a letter from you stating that the accounts have been previously verified. I did not receive any of the information that I had requested. You are now in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and FACTA. By law you should have provided me with the information that I have requested. I have filed a complaint with the FTC against you and attached a copy of the complaint. The only way you can correct your mistake is by deleting the above mentioned accounts or I will be taking legal action against you for violating my rights.

Sincerely,

Monica
