You mean they gave you a 2nd Dillard's card with a $200 CL? Did you apply online? Can you not specify on the application that you're applying for the Amex card only? If not, that sucks!

The app, IIRC, gives the choice of either being considered for the Amex first, then the store card, OR just for the store card. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a choice to apply for just the Amex...and, if you got instant approval, no doubt the system is not designed to check whether or not you already have a Dillards card.

To be honest, the approval on my app was so fast, I doubt they had time to pull a CR, even though they did pull an EQ, in any event. (Calling tomorrow to get my CL).

In any case, call them and explain the situation. Make sure the CSR transfers you to a credit analyst.

rofl.gif Sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh at this one. You should send the card back when you get it.

You should consider yourself lucky, I applied last week and they gave me and instant approval for a 150.00 store card. It was funny to say the least. Now I can get that new fork I have always wanted, the spoon will have to wait.

Dillards is very stingy with initial store card CLs, but are generous with CLIs after a 4 month payment history.

If you've applied and want/need to talk to a credit analyst, they are only one step away from the CSRs, who will transfer you very readily.

Just called. Got the instant approval the other day on the Dillards Amex. The credit analyst told me the CL is 2000, which is, of course, many thousands below my usual, but I'll take it. He said that they will give CLIs on this particular card after 3 months.

I have to study, so didn't feel like investing the time in fighting!
