We were at Wal Mart in Trumann, AR, which is a little hick town (it was a super Wal Mart that closes, not open 24/7). I bought less than $2 worth of stuff and they asked for my ID when I used my card. I was using my B of A card with my pic on it, so I showed her the pic and that was fine, but SHEESH. $2?????

Must be a "LOCAL" thing because it is NOT POLICY TO ASK FOR ID ON A SIGNED CARD (especially one with a PICTURE)**

CID

**BUT I DID HAVE ONE FOOL HAVE SEE ID ON THE BACK OF HIS "PICTURE CARD" LIKE HE WAS SUPER SPECIAL!!! I SHOW ID ALL THE TIME AND I HAVE A "PICTURE CARD"

Picture card is good enough they get nothing else. Since mine have no pics they get no pics.

I have had some Wal-Marts ask for ID and some that don't. As a general concept (in all stores, not just W-M), it does seem to be gaining momentum.

If I steal someone's cc, I am going to spend more that $2 on it.

me too

Don't you guys know it's impossible to duplicate a signature well enough to fool a highly trained Walmart clerk?

...AND ALL OTHER STORES (that take credit cards) ARE BETTER TRAINED???

not quite.. i suspect none of the stores have training on spotting a fake sig

Oh it's gaining baby! as Kramer would say.

Use my tractor supply card today, the lady turned her head to help someone with some O'Roy and I got the card swiped and back in pocket before she saw it. She turned around asked for my PO number and BANG I'm done. No signature check no ID check, What's the world coming to?

Told wife she was good student! Gave her a reward later.

Speak Up! Hell I've been married 25 years. One thing I learned early on "don't flirt or appear to be flirting with others in the Mrs. presence. Think I could get a little after interceding?

My pleasure ranks over some strangers credit card rights.

SHE should have spoken up...

You could have helped out once she asked you the question A LITTLE LOUDER...

NO SWEETHEART (WIFE)...THAT VIOLATES CREDIT CARD POLICY FOR A SIGNED CREDIT CARD...THEY CAN BE FINED AND LOSE THE RIGHT TO ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS WITH MULTIPLE VIOLATIONS...
