I'm trying to figure something out....I've had some credit problems in the past...BK 3years ago....Since then no problems...Credit score - 598

I applied for a person to person auto loan for 10,000. The vehicle I want is worth 13,400 according to the bank. They approved for only 8,000.

Checked with another bank HSBC and they approved me for 26,000 on a new vechicle. and 24,000 on a used vechicle. However this offer is only good for dealers.

Problem is I would like to buy a 2001 Durango from my cousin dirt cheap. I'm having trouble finding 10,000 for a 13,000 vehicle...

Any help, suggestions, or places to turn would be appriciated

Are you a member of a credit union? If not you might want to consider joinig one. If you aren't eligible to join one in your area, look into PATELCO, they're verry popular among this boards membership.

By the way, if no one as said it yet...

WELCOME TO THE BOARD!

Thanks a bunch...Why a credit union? I have checked one and was turned down. I will check into PATELCO. Thanks for the welcome.

This board has the most information on credit and related items I have ever seen. It's always nice to see a great group of people with expirence willing to help those who don't know the system. Have a nice day and God Bless

I thought of that, but does one just walk in and say "Buy this from my cousin and sell it to me at the same price" or will they be intrested in what's in it for them? My expirence with dealerships is limited. Is there a specific title of person that I should deal with within the dealership? Thanks for the help

Well If I bought it from your cousin, I certainly would NOT sell it to you for the same price.

The purchase price along with the negotiated sale price to you should be conducted up front.
