I got a "pre-approval" letter from Juniper but I am too scared to apply. I think I'll try next month, when my huge payments on my credit cards show up.

All these approvals on this thread was for the Carnival card, right?

just called...

still denied...this time for accounts that have balances...

plus, the "new" letter still says BK, and they pulled another TWO hards...EQ and EX this time

Damn.

I was denied last month, due to BK. Didn't push reconsideration

Denied today due to balances, but BK still showing (odd), but now over 6 years (which might be a cutoff for Juniper).

Called this time and guy looked at balances/limits, asked me a few questions about them.

No problemo!!!

What are your balances like? What are your limits like? Mine are mostly toy cards.

Juniper denied me for a 6.6 year old BK. That is the only thing negative on my reports.

Funny thing I just checked my TU score it is 683 and not 673 like I thought. I applied last week.

I think after reading this I will either call for recon or do a PFB.

I have a pre-qualified letter from Juniper but I'm afraid to apply also. I have BK7 discharged 3/2003 and 5 accts IIB. I have 14 positives accts but my utilization is high around 70%.

That's probably where they nailed you?

I have high utilization on some cards, but than again they are toy cards and their credit department fully understood that.

I think sometimes these reconsiderations are a matter of just who you get when you call. If you get someone who is understanding and realizes that you never let a potentially good customer slip away, you have a better chance.

FWIW ... My FICO is only 658.

Perhaps being an AU on two high-limit cards, with two very prime banks, helped my cause a bit.

That and I think they felt bad that I'm stuck with so many sub-prime toy cards.

would spreading the wealth of that providian card btw mbna and providian decrease your utilization? Ive always been confused by this...or am i way off?

Hmmm. Interesting. Looks like they went back and pulled EX and probably EQ too for the reconsideration. Given the legal limbo with EX (and the Paid COs there) I'm surprised they said yes. I must have landed a very generous credit analyst when I called. :(

Scores range from 579 EQ to 620 TU EX in the middle. Utilization is low < 30%. Baddies include 4 defaulted Student Loans from 1999 (which are consolidated and have 24 months good history. One charge off which hit recently and a couple paid collections (before CB).

Funny thing is I am about to book a Carnival Cruise for Thanksgiving. Hence the reason I wanted this card. Also, have 6-8 inquiries and just added another. Most are from a mortgage re-fi.

Don't know if this is good or bad. Applied over phone for Juniper sea miles card. Was not given instant approval or decline, was told to call back in 2-4 business days for application status. Has anyone elso gotten this, and if so, what was decision. Thanking you all in advance

Hubs just got this card, I was denied with a 9+ old BK...I have to say it is a nice looking card, as opposed to the unattractive Patelco card! lol

The cool thing is that the cruise points or whatever are good toward any cruise line, according to Juniper's website, and we are Norwegian Cruise Line fans. We leave on NCL on Father's Day ~ wish I had known about this card earlier!

What is funny now is that if I go to www.juniper.com, it is the SeaMiles Card page, rather than Juniper's regular page. Is it true than that Juniper only allows you to have ONE of their cards? Hope not, because I really wanted one of their Las Vegas casino cards too. And Apple.

I've read here that you can only have one card, yes. It was in a recent thread about Juniper.
