Sears to Partner with BarclayCard

Just discovered that Sears will now be offering a "2nd Look" rapid credit program for those that cannot be approved by Citibank. If one goes into the store and applies for a Sears Card, if Citi can't approve, then it will automatically be sent to Barclay's for possible approval. If Barclay's can't approve then it will be sent to the company that Sears uses for leasing. This will be rolling out in the stores the last two weeks of August. The Barclay's card will offer the same benefits as Citi, such as $15 credit the first, and extra Shop Your Way points when used. From the information I have access too, it does not appear you will be able to apply directly with Barclay. It appears the 2nd look program is only available in the store.

Sears had a progam like this before, as hrguy mentioned with HSBC. While the specifics are not shared, it is implied that Barclays will approve some of those who did not meet the requirements for Citi, which implies, a Barclays approval would be easier than a Citi approval. But, the program requires you to apply for Citi first.
