I noticed that many people are getting fraud alerts on their reports in response to disputes recently, myself included.

Below is how I obtained quick removal of the FA on each CRA this week:

TU

By far the easiest. Can be removed online.

http://www.transunion.com/personal-credit/credit-disputes/fraud-alerts.page

Click on remove fraud alert. Login in with your UN and PW and your set to go. Immediate removal.

EQ

Call 800-203-7843 and be sure to have your confirmation # (report #). Initially you will be greeted by someone who sounds to be outsourced to another country. State that you need to remove your fraud alert and you will be transferred to the fraud department.

The fraud department reps are US based and will ask you various questions about the contents of your report to verify it is you. After you successfully answer the questions they will remove the alert. Immediate removal.

EX

Experian needs to be done in writing - will not remove online or based on a phone call. But there is a shortcut as an alternative to mailing USPS.

Print out the form found here: https://www.experian.com/consumer/cac/PrepopulatedForm.do?PrePopulatedForm.No=1017&type=victim

Fill it out. Fax this form along with a copy of your Drivers License AND a copy of a UTILITY BILL which clearly shows your name and current address (CURRENT UTILITY BILL) to 972-390-5767.

When you have confirmation the fax was transmitted successfully, call 1-800-493-1058.

At the prompts enter your report number and last four of your SSN. When the prompt begins to ask you what you would like to do, hit 0 every time the prompt speaks. After 2-3 times, it will state that it is transferring you to a representative. Shortly thereafter, it will begin another prompt asking if it is related to fraud and if it is, to press 1. At this time press 1.

A rep that again appears to be stateside will answer the phone. Tell the rep that you mailed the documentation required two weeks ago, but the fraud alert is still there. Then tell them you just faxed it over. Once they confirm your fax came through they will process the FA removal.

Within 24 hours the FA was gone.
