What's the chance of getting this deleted by EX?

This poll is just for fun. But I disputed this medical collection account with EX online last night. The reason I disputed it is because they have an open date of 2002 and first reported date of 2001. How can the account be opened a year after it was first reported? So I want your opinions of whether you think EX will delete the bogus TL, correct it with a new open date, or "Verify" it.

Are you asking me if the collection is legal? I beleive it is "mine", but since it's reported that it was opened in 2/2002, but was first reported on my CR as a collection in 9/2001, I thought I could dispute the information being inaccurate or bogus? I hope they delete, I could sure use it.

 

Really how can they say account was opened 5 months after it was first reported? How can the CA claim that?

In my state I couldn't find out online if they have their licenseing/bond current by going to the AG os Sec of State website. I have that phone number you found for me the other day, but my kids ages 2 and 3 are under my feet all day, and haven't had time or quiet to do any phone call inquiries.

 

I noticed on my CR though, that it is only reported one month in 9/01 and one month in 3/02. The rest of the months shows No Data. Does this mean inactive, or are they only required to report it in the month they receive the bill from the OC? By the way, they haven't tried to contact me in over a year I guess. They aren't trying to sue me or anything.

 

What I want to do, is dispute online like I did over the reported acct opened error and if it doesn't get deletion, then validate with the CA, and dispute again with the CRA through the mail. What do you think of the 1-2-1 plan?

If I do get a verify on this matter, does that constitute fraud on their part? Being anyone can see that if they are reporting the account in 2001, it had to have been opened before 2/2002.

Is there a particular reason you are ignoring the advice Nana is giving you? It seems to me, that if you found out they weren't legal in your state, that would be the easiest way to get rid of this. I don't think Nana is answering just so she can read it again later.

 

A verification is not fraud. It may be a case of reporting incorrect info, but certainly not fraudulent.

 

Don't your 2 and 3 year olds take a nap for a short time during the day?

Wow...uh, it was just a question, Heal, didn't really see sarcasm...LKH was just trying to help you see how powerful that info is...you don't wake anybody up, as you put it, by checking with state authorities to see if their legal. As for bothering you, if you don't find their reporting on your CR bothersome, then..?

 

Tell you what, you go ahead and go at this as you wish following which ever suggestions you wish. Best of luck to you!

Or did you miss it when I stated that the CA is not bothering me. So if I can get this off my CR without involving waking them up, that's what I will do first. I have already tried to find out if they are currently licensed/bonded in my state. That info is not readily available online. I have to call the licensing office in the state capitol, and as of this minute, this hour, I haven't done so. This does not mean I am ignoring her advice, as you have passed judgement. So if my questions continue to offend you, just don't bother with a reply. Thank you.

You obviously don't understand the dispute process and the responsibilities of both CRA's and furnishers of information and further 3rd party collectors.

 

Your first step should have been making that phone call.

Not because of this thread, the disagreement, your responses (now gone), making this thread look like Nana, LKH and I are talking to ourselves or needing prozac.

 

This board was formed, as I'm believing still, primarily for 2 reasons one was disrespect and disregard for those that had both laid the foundation and created the atmosphere of exchange at CN, and censorship at CN. You'd not know that EVEN if you did search because all the important stuff was deleted, what remains is remnant threads alluding to an implosion of sorts -- so you can't even go back and get the whole story if you wanted to. If you read ONLY what is there is paints an entirely different picture than actually what did occur.

 

I posted this in a LizardKing thread this week about those that planted and nutured the roots and how I felt about it. It's just been a passionate kinda week here. Though this only mentions LK, because it was his thread I was posting in, there are countless others -- LKH, Doc, Nana, Marie, Marci, Tac, Marc, Dave, George, Breeze, Dogman, Quixote, Whyspers, WhyChat, Roni, Christine, Kristy -- heck I should even include LB and GFisher too!!!!! I would have loved to have met DorisK and judyputy but missed them both, missed both of BBauer's ins and outs too; can't forget PBM. See the problem with naming names, it comes up short and I know I'm leaving people out -- I hate that!!!!!!!

 

Nonetheless this is what I'm feeling passionate about this week especially:

 

I just have to address the showing off, I know you were kidding, but I just can't take anything away from LizardKing, only add to it, I hope.

 

He's being NICE laying it out in a lesson format, I learned from him and the other active participants at CN at that time, by searching up their old posts and piecing them together.

 

There just isn't a more awesome or incredible resource than the archives at CN. I searched then and still do even in reverse chronological order.

 

If you want an eduction, search them up and piece them together, following them as they learned and shared and created a foundation for building on, following each of them as they tackled their own reports and learned. There just isn't anything that holds a candle to it.

 

I feel strongly about that because when CN had it's meltdown and this board was formed, it was just that foundation and interaction, the sheer respect, brilliance and brain power that was going on and the atmosphere that it happened in, that those that had participated in created, that couldn't be lost without forever changing the quality of CN.

 

I'm sorry to say that's just what happened, you can't pull up the roots and all that it took to grow and thrive, that created such an awesome place and knowledge sharing and growing and expect the leaves to thrive.

 

Those posters created it and that it is invaluable still and now what makes this board thrive -- it's the essence and spirit living on, re-born.

 

So I'm off on a tangent, but I never EVER want to forget those that gave so much of themselves they didn't even realize what they were creating and growing as a living resource. I have an awesome respect for that still and what it takes to keep it alive. I'm sorry that it wasn't appreciated at CN and once it was dead, it was dead, forever changed.

 

That foundation and essence created is theirs and theirs alone, I was only blessed enough to be able to read and search along and I only hope to add to it now.

 

LizardKing is a part of those roots, he should wear that proud, I say, as well as all of those who participated in those initial creations.

CN has a new sticky at the top, Hall of Fame postings, I don't think Steve scratched the surface myself but that's a darn fine start. What's important for me, back to the passion, is that those initial hall of famer threads, save 2 by fave Butch growling dude, are all old, errrrrrrrrrr aged, the archives are awesome. Those people that authored those threads are mostly all here on this board, and I think that speaks to what I am feeling so passionate about and that I hoped to express in the above cut and paste.

 

As important as the contributers and especially those that paved the way and are still here, I feel as strongly today about censorship as I did then, and I'm believing that's likely true of the others.

 

That's what I want you to know and understand and why I hope you'll be here. The quality of the information, posters, and atmosphere created; combined creates a synergy that is beyond a price tag or what happened in this one thread. It is the essence of who were are with each post and post by post.

 

In fact, this entire week on this message board, last week too, for me especially (typing only for myself of course) has been a roller-coaster ride in what I value, respect, and most appreciate, all wrapped up in a passionate bow.

 

Thank you for giving me a reason to express it.

 

I don't substanatively edit even my own posts that I regret, I say I'm sorry and mean it, as I shared with you in pm, so while I understand your request for editing of my quotes, I want you to understand where I'm coming from and why I can't. And, for the same reasons expressed above, know that no one will hold this thread against you, we all say we're sorry when we are and move on from there. We are afterall humans at a keyboard -- that's why I hope you'll be here still when I return. There are awesome humans gathered in this slice of cyberspace.

I clearly missed info when posts were deleted. Extreme editing or deleting causes a gap and valuable information is lost and it often leads to confusion. That's about the last thing we need in an environment where factual and accurate info is paramount.

 

All of us post things that cause us to rethink, regret, and regroup when you've been around here for a while. It's part of the process and a very valuable part. I've learned more from those than I think I have any other aspect because of the reflection process.

 

I do appreciate the feeling that you want to reduce anything that might be considered negative and hope that helps things but actually, I think it hurts the whole process going on here.

 

What I know is that the people around here are pretty darn understanding when someone sincerely rethinks things...and that no longterm grudge is held for those situations. Now, when someone keeps showing themselves to be, well, negative, then that's different..but gosh, not like a situation like this.

 

The integrity of the board, though, is hinged on honest interactions that enhance learning and growth...so I have to support Sassy on this one...even if things get a bit on edge, its best left as is. (Unless of course, a TOS violation requires editing and that's a different story altogether!)
