GEMB giving out CL's....Hit your LUV buttons!
WhoisJohnDoe ? replied to disnugaswagg's topic in Credit Forum
When they lower it to the 124, that is a code for an account that is not used. When they did it to me, I went and charged something small, and they restored my limit immediately (The next time the statement cut). Then I was able to get CLI's like normal. <3 -
GEMB giving out CL's....Hit your LUV buttons!

I signed into my Paypal account for some luv and noticed that GEMB had chopped my limit from 1100 to $124 (last charge 6/2010). I entered my income and it refused to increase me. (68,000 avail credit on other cards, 783 EQ FICO, clean EX file - just checked credit secure). Oh well. I only keep it open for the account age anyway. -
Subprime Cash: We have enough problems, now we got another
WhoisJohnDoe ? replied to hegemony's topic in Credit Forum
Protip: If you ever find $150k in your backyard, don't go to the media like this salamander. Start making regular trips to the casino and cashing out for $5k or less. Save your receipts. In 6 months of weekend trips, you'll have a totally plausible explanation for where you got that money. Pay the taxes on the "winnings", and put the money to work. -
I found some more info in a FatWallet thread. According to one poster, it appears like the 2% will continue until December at which point it will be replaced with a reward structure similar to the BofA Cash Rewards card
-
NOOOOOOO! I recently started to use this as my primary card now that they *finally* gave me good limit. What did they say in the letter? When is the account closing? What card is it being replaced with? Same limit, what's the story?

First time home buyer - Future Planning

You sound like you were in a similar situation. That's pretty much what I want to do - buy a place and pay around what I can afford with my rent right now. -
First time home buyer - Future Planning
WhoisJohnDoe ? replied to WhoisJohnDoe ?'s topic in Mortgages
Thanks for the replies. I was unemployed until recently and getting a job required changing fields so the very soonest I would be employed in the same line of work would be 18 months from now, which sucks. I would totally pull the trigger sooner rather than later to get the rates, but I'm just gonna hang in until I've at least been on the job a year. -
I want to buy a home next year and want to do the most advantageous thing given my situation: * 778/781 FICO EQ/TU * 3% Utilization / $60,000 available / 13 ACCOUNTS / 3YR AOA / 11 YR AGE * $32,000 year income * $10,000 in savings * No major loans on CR (Car was paid in cash) * 5 year rental history (First time homebuyer) * 1 year at present job * NFCU member I have a nice apartment and am not in a rush to buy. I would like to close on a home within a year if possible. How much ($ wise) home can I afford on my income (my rent now is $765) and what kind of loan would be best for someone in my position? FHA? 100% First time homebuyer? Conventional?

I would second this. My primary Visa is serviced by FIA (aka BOA) and I've always had friendly, helpful CSRs when I've called in.

You won't get my FIA/Schwab Invest First Visa with its 2% cash back til you pry it from my, well you get the point. -
That's terrific! Glad to hear. It is a such a relief when you can get baddies off your bureaus.

Credit Secure from Amex. 11.95/mo. but that's only 2 trimerge reports a month. It's more if you want to daily pull, but I'm not sure how much.

Finally got my BofA BankAmericard Visa CLI!!!!!
WhoisJohnDoe ? replied to Ron1's topic in Credit Forum
You might want to try running it up near the limit and paying it off before the statement cuts. I did that without looking for a CLI on one account and they raised the limit from $12k to $17k without my asking for the CLI. This after they chopped an account in half for not using the available limit. Well, I had a large purchase I wanted to get the 2% cash back on so I took the plunge earlier this week. I spoke with a CA and after verifying assets & income and a hard pull, I got a $24k line. I made a $14k charge on Friday and will PIF on Monday when it posts just to collect the rewards. I'll probably be doing $9-11k a month on it for the next 6-8 months.
