Long time no see, credit peeps! I had to pop in and show you guys this: unasked for, and wholly unexpected. (Stopped hitting the luv button after $10k - years ago - and have been sitting there since then.) Got this in an email this am. "We're happy to inform you that we have increased your credit line. Your new credit line is: $18,800 of which $2,500 is available as Cash. This new credit line is due to your overall excellent credit management and is available for you to use in whatever way is best for you. You can check your available credit at Discover.com or on the Discover mobile app. You can also call the number on the back of your card to reach our 100% U.S.-based service team with any questions, any time. As always, thank you for choosing Discover." Have an awesome day! PSA - When I joined CB, nearly 10 years ago, I was solidly mid-600's. Been sitting in the 800's for quite a while now - listen to these guys - they know what they're talking about. (edited to correct "join" time...)

I just pulled my report from my employer's website (I can do this anytime, it seems) - surprised to see there's an ALERT from American Express from last Oct - but I'm not sure it's TWN alerting them to anything important. I've been with the same employer for 30 years and nothing is new. I've had my 2 Amexes for quite some time (backdated to 1991). We've just recently shifted away from using Amex as our corporate card (I don't have one now, but did decades ago, hence the 1991 date). I think the ALERT might be based on that - probably Amex got alerted to every employee who has or had their corporate card. Random notes: For my employer, I need to give permission (i.e. request a temporary pin) for anyone to view salary info. For most years they report both gross and net pay - so that may be a YMMV thing (net v gross). What's a little weird is that I'm monthly-paid, and they list annual salary info, and then pay period info (i.e. nearly ten pages telling them what I made each month). They do have my job title listed in the employment section. Ultimately, it's a little creepy, but I can see why larger employers (we have 20,000+ employees) like it - handing off employment verification to a third-party is WAY more efficient.

The Master Do NOT Buy FICO Scores From myFICO.com Thread
cb_opus replied to BobWang's topic in Credit Forum
I popped in to get the scoop from the masters about something myfico sent me (I still have SW). And was too lazy to do a seach when this thread was at the top of the feed... "myFICO is pleased to provide you with a complimentary Equifax Credit Report and upgraded version of your FICO® Score" and overnight my score went from 783 to 811 (I have a couple of new accounts that had dropped me into the 700s.) Does this mean they're using EQ'04 now? (at least for subscribers?) Of course today I get an alert that Discover reported a high balance (still PIF, no worries but don't care about paying before statement cut anymore) and I'm down to 801. (I'll take it!) Their verbiage below - highlights in red - the last sentence kind of implies that only SW subscribers get the new score, but it's not really clear... Miss you guys! I really do need to check in more! Begin quote: Important information about your complimentary Equifax credit report and upgraded FICO Score myFICO is pleased to provide you with a complimentary Equifax credit report and upgraded version of your FICO® Score. All of your future score-related alerts and score tracking will be based on this upgraded FICO Score version. Rest assured, all of the FICO® Score Watch features you rely upon will remain intact. Upgraded FICO Score FAQs Why is myFICO upgrading the FICO® Score? FICO Scores have been used by lenders since 1989. FICO periodically re-develops and update the scoring model to make sure it remains an innovative and accurate risk predictor. We also make sure the model keeps pace with changing consumer behaviors and incorporates our newest analytic technology. The majority of FICO Scores being pulled by lenders are generated based on this upgraded version so we have moved to the upgraded version so that you can have access to the same version. Will my upgraded FICO® Score be different? Likely, yes. It’s natural for scores to shift whenever a scoring system is updated. How much it shifts and in what direction will be unique to each consumer. Our research shows that nearly half of U.S. consumers have "updated FICO Scores that are relatively close to their scores from the previous version of the formula. It is possible for a greater score change to occur, but this type of movement simply means the updated model is doing a "better job of identifying those people who are lower credit risks from those who are higher credit risks. Regardless of score version, the actions that affect your FICO Score remain the same : Pay your bills on time Keep credit card balances low Open a new credit account only when you need it Will my future score and alerts reflect the upgraded score? Yes. Any myFICO solution that’s based on Equifax data will include the upgraded FICO® Score. Will the complimentary Equifax credit report hurt my Score? No. The myFICO inquiry used to pull the complimentary Equifax credit report is a “soft inquiry” and will not impact your FICO® Score. Are there other changes to my Score Watch® subscription? All of the Score Watch features and benefits you value remain in effect We are pleased to announce several new FICO® Score Simulator scenarios are now available. We encourage you to check them out with the complimentary Equifax credit report and upgraded FICO Score provided. The new scenarios were created based on myFICO customer feedback and can help you better understand how various credit-related actions may affect your future FICO Score. The new scenarios include: What will likely happen to my score if I close down a $0 balance credit card account? What will likely happen to my score if I refinance my mortgage? What will likely happen to my score if I apply and receive a student loan of $X? What will likely happen if I pay down $X on student loans? What will likely happen to my score if I foreclose or short sale on my mortgage? How will I remember when I was switched to the upgraded version? Your FICO® Score history tab reflects the date your FICO® Score Watch subscription was transitioned to the upgraded FICO Score version. Do I need to re-set my FICO Score alert setting parameters? Yes, now would be an ideal time to review your current FICO Score based alert settings and potentially adjust these relative to the upgraded FICO Score you received. Can I get my older and more current version at the same time? No. Once you’ve been upgraded, all of your myFICO solutions based on Equifax data will be formulated on the upgraded FICO® Score. Why can’t my friend or spouse get a complimentary Equifax credit report with the upgraded FICO® Score version? The complimentary credit report is only available to existing FICO® Score Watch subscribers who are being migrated to the upgraded FICO® Score version. -
Here's another hug, Bob. *hug* You're still my credit hero. Oh, back on-topic... I'm down some points too: 817 - down from 829. And that's without the new car loan reporting. Still, the $1,500 cash back will have been worth the 3-months of loan payments and temporary FICO impact, imo. It's just a number, bubbie!

Today's EX scores: PSECU - 817 (down from 829) MyFICO - 826 (took one for the team and bought one. Suckers are charging tax now. Feh.) Credit Sesame - 806 (down from 813) Some reporting balances are up, but I don't think the new short term auto loan is reporting yet. It will probably report after I pay it off (Oct/Nov). Have a day! -
E1308BDY20FST worked for me... will post in one of Bob's threads to compare it to PSECU EX which came out today.
-
You can but try. Personally, I'd go for it. I just financed (solely to get a cash back bonus) the minimum on an Elantra and my EX Auto Enhanced FICO Score was higher than my PSECU FICO. Auto FICO range is 50 points higher (goes to 900), so while relatively lower, it was a higher score. (EX FICO = 829 / EX Auto V.8 = 842). No car loan ever in my life, no installment loans on my CRs. ymmv. Good luck! I hope you enjoy your new car as much as I'm enjoying mine.

I'll try to remember to buy an EX FICO next time PSECU posts - I owe CB at least that much - as of now, the dates would be too far apart... Here's this month's update: PSECU EX - 829 CSesame - 813 EX Plus - 783 (USBank) credit.com refuses to update without buying a new report... buggers. -
Approx $7,500 earlier this month from Hyundai Motor Credit for my spiffy brand new Elantra. Only financed the minimum to get $1,500 cash back. Will pay off the balance with 4th payment (need to make 3 to qualify for CB). Found out I had a pretty fine Auto Enhanced FICO in the process. Woot and a shout out to CB for getting me there. Not bad for someone with no auto loan ever, and no installment loans on my CRs. I heart CB (Creditboards) and CB (Cash Back) - heh.
-
Hrm. I didn't realize this was happening yet again... Deja vu and a flashback moment to Chase (the devil) and their UD and all the misery that brought me here to CB years ago. Thanks to the pros here, I will never be held hostage again! I don't come by much these days, but still heart you all!

The Master Am I Eligible for PSECU Thread (GPs Needed)
cb_opus replied to BobWang's topic in Credit Forum
+1,000 I got 2 EX hards for 1) joining and 2) opening savings. Then realized that I needed checking to get my FICO. Called them and, yay, 2 more EX hards for the checking account. That was after they told me it (i.e. one pull, not 2) would be a soft. They're kind of clueless that way. Tread lightly if you're inq-sensitive. -
The Master Where Can I Get My FICO Score Mega Thread
cb_opus replied to BobWang's topic in Credit Forum
You sure, Bob? I couldn't get mine without a checking account. (The opening of which got me my 3rd and 4th EX inqs from PSECU, since they just don't have a clue).
