  1. Special number for Capital One (senior account manager) that has been helpful to me is 800-889-9939.
  2. I disputed one because the date filed was inconsistent by days. I asked that they verify all parts of the PR. It vanished with poof a few days later. The chapter 13 I disputed as dismissed and not therefore a valid public record. It also vanished within two weeks. Transunion took off a PR (chapter 13 dismissed) at 6 years and four months because I declared it obsolete. Equifax stuck like glue. Usually I ask that they investigate all details because there are often errors that need to be corrected.
  3. Experian does not properly investigate bankruptcy filings and I have gotten them removed helping three separate individuals with their disputes. Equifax will not remove any bankruptcy even a dismissed one until ten years have passed. Transunion will remove a dismissed one after 7 years.
  4. After 10 months of negotiating with Bank of America as the servicer and Wells Fargo as the investor I was finally offered a 5.25% rate which dropped my payment by $750 per month and I was always current for the last 30 months. I was only able to succeed because I went through NACA and I would sugest that you explore all options.
  5. I believe that you did not read MY post clearly. I made myself available to talk freely about modifications for nine months. I sent every piece of documentation requested. I spoke to every negotiator without having any representation and would be quite amenable to discussing a modification offered without naca representation. My point was that there was NO movement from the bank's end even though I ended up in contact with the president of bank of america home loans in order to find out what if any movement was made in addition to the Attorney General of Illinois and my local elected officials. Perhaps your experience is different where you work and having read your previous posts I believe that you are genuinely committed to helping with modifications and perhaps irritated by the selfish seeming people who want what their neighbors got. I can tell you with certaintude that CW/ Bank of America is currently and has been for at least one year a black hole. Left hand does not know what right hand is doing. Imagine the confusion and desperation of all of those customers who are in worse shape than me because of life circumstances and level of financial sophistication. I have experience in financial matters, real estate, and counseling and I find the process intimidating and outrageous. I am simply suggesting that I understand people's paranoia. If you try for a year to achieve a goal and go around in circles talking to rude customer service people and faxing everything multiple times it becomes overwhelming to the average person. I just wanted you to entertain that possibility rather than to dismiss them as "nutso."
  6. Where are you coming from with your calling those of us seeking modifications terms such as "nutso", in my case, as part of a class-action settlement with countrywide now Bank of America? I dutifully followed every step of any and every program, Home for Homeowners, Heart, etc. suggested to me by cw only to have five separate attempts at modification fail because of mishandling at the bank, the third party agents on foreign shores not being able to scan documents into the system. I was denied because I made too much money, too little money, bad debt ratio, value of property and failure to follow through with paperwork all in the same letter. CW lost my faxes on three separate occasions. I am not whining or expecting any pity modification. I have a loan with a 9.99 ARM with perfect payment history although it is a terrible strain and I qualify for a modification based on statements by the Illinois Attorney General. CW and now Bank of America have been unable to properly follow their OWN guidelines. As a result of their incompetency I went to NACA and I am unable to converse directly with the bank because of their representation. I do not understand the tone of your recent posts. If you have nothing to add to be of help to people lost in the maze of modification bewilderment why respond with such criticism? I am not " nutso" or "crazed". I am instead "offended."
  7. Faxed information sent to the designated fax numbers 800-658-0395 and 800-658-9346 as directed by csrs are not being scanned properly into the system which is offshored. Today a representative of the loss mitigation department gave me a better fax number which she assured me would be the best and I am passing it along - 888-491-4947. I am on my 3rd attempt to address a high interest ARM per AG settlement of lawsuit in Illinois and they keep losing my information out of the system and then dropping me for consideration because of failure to send them this information. When I indicated that I would be passing all of this mess with my packet to Madigan's office, I immediately was put back into modification workout and an appraisal was ordered. Note: I am current and never have been late in over two years; however, I was in a 9.99% ARM initially. I was advised to not pay for 60 days and I did not take that advise. My credit started at 473 and is now 623 and I am not about to screw this up.
  8. Countrywide's number for home retention is 800-669-0102. They are basically worthless in offering assistance unless you have been late; however, I am relentless and in my third attempt at a loan modification, interest reset, or anything of value. Our payment went up $700 a month because of reassessment and too short a deadline to oppose the new amount so I know what you are talking about. Our county has my home listed at $30,000 more than current appraisal and our property tax is now $5200 annually. Don't be discouraged. Gather up your budget information, paystubs, and write a good hardship letter and keep getting in their system.
  9. Because my son and I share a house, he was able to do a simple assumption and add me to the mortgage. I was already on the deed through a quit claim. This combined income is being considered for a loan modification with Countrywide. Now both of our credit bureaus show the comlete mortgage history.
  10. I was able to have a dismissed chapter 13 removed from experian, but not the other two major bureaus. TU removed after 6 years; however, EQ insists it will remain for ten years.
  11. We have been trying to get a loan modification with countrywide for six months, going throuigh three different negotiators. Each time we send in all documents and the info just disappears from the workout screen. We never receive any written correspondence from the cancellation. We are part of the settlement that countrywide reached with Bank of America and the attorney general of Illinois. First we were told we had no hardship. Second we did not have enough income. The third time we were told that we had perfect mortgage history and too much income and should not pay the loan for 60 days and then they could help us. I snapped and called Lisa Madigan's office and was told to gather all paperwork and turn it over to them. Our loan fits all guidelines and our payment is now $700 more a month than two years ago. We were approved for an FHA loan last March but they lost the loan in processing twice. When they found it the value of the home had fallen too much to absorb the second mortgage as we had a 80/15 ARM. I am thoroughly disgusted with their so-called modification, but I called and asked for a supervisor and it is back in review. Do not surrender. Each time that you get another negotiator you will get a different story and one might work. Also mentioning the attorney general was interested in our case seemed to help renew the process.
  12. This has happened to me after making payments at a branch bank and being told that the payment would post on the Saturday. Also I used my credit card as overdraft protection on my checking account with the understanding that they would advance only money to the extent of my credit line. They paid $6.00 over what I had available and then charged me $39 over the limit fee. They refused to bend on the $39 so I removed the credit card from the automatic overdraft protection, using savings instead.
  13. I have a secured Orchard card that unsecured after 6 months. It was like pulling teeth to get my deposit back and I am in the process of combining this credit line with another unsecured Orchard card. This has taken two months so far.
  14. I had success with Ex today by disputing for the fourth time an auto loan which was discharged in Bk 7 in 2004 but was remarked as in a BK 7 filed in July 2007 and validated three times. I called the bankruptcy dept of the auto finance company and the rep said she in fact did not verify that statement. I then called ex back asking for a contact for my attorney as this reaging comment was costing me money as I am in the middle of a refi. The auto bankruptcy rep asked me to fax the incorrect info to her stating that she verified this incorrect info. Poof! This did take 14 months to achieve, however.
  15. I just encountered these charges today for a total of $70 because my transfers from savings to checking and checking to ING savings which are automatic happened on the same day as a deposit so I was not overdrawn at the end of the day but I sure was the next day because of the two fees. I must have missed reading about this when the policy changed.
