I checked Equifax backdoor today and it wasn't there. I also checked Experian through CCT and it's not being reported. -

Thanks for the quick reply! It's still the same company. During the investigation process, they disappeared from all my reports. The CRA's reported them as no longer on my report instead of deleted. Now they sent a collection letter like its the first time they've ever reported it. -

My apologies for not updating in a while. I had surgery last week and have been out of it. My results for Experian came on November 11. They are: GLA COLLECTIONS DELETED DEBT RECOVERY SOLUTIONS DELETED CHOICE RECOVERY DELETED PHOENIX FINANCIAL 1 Not on investigation results/ No longer on report PHOENIX FINANCIAL 2 Not on investigation results/ No longer on report My results for Equifax never arrived but all of the accounts had been removed when I checked the back door. Here's where it gets fun. Today I received a collection letter from Phoenix Financial Services wanting me to pay the full balance on both accounts they have. They state that they represent Pendrick Capital Partners who purchased the debt and the date of service was 03/21/2013 and 03/25/2013. They say I have 30 days to dispute and if I dispute, they will obtain a verification of debt or a judgement and mail me a copy of the judgement against me or a verification. So, any thoughts? Thanks! -

As Why Chat mentioned, start a thread in the "Help, I've been served" forum. What state are you in? Below is an article I think you should read. It may not apply to your state directly, but most places have a cap on how much a lawyer can charge in fees when collecting a debt. Seems to me that charging more in attorney's fees than what the original debt was is illegal. (Keep in mind that this is only my opinion) you need to check your states laws to find out if there is a fee cap and what percentage it is. http://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=5e2a10f5-ad2a-4448-9f76-f1eb591eb290

I received not one, but two emails from Equifax today asking me to click a link and agree to receive my results online. That won't happen. I know it doesn't count but CK and CCT are showing that both Phoenix Financial accounts that reported earlier this year have been deleted from EQ and TU already. The rest of the medical accounts are showing as, "Consumer disputes - reinvestigation in progress", in the comments section. Oh, and for some reason, a collection account for Verizon was removed as well from TU, but I didn't dispute it. I was waiting till after my medical accounts were taken care of. That leads me to this question. Under what circumstances are CRA's and CA's allowed to reinsert deleted accounts back on to your report? I'll update this thread as more info becomes available. -
Will a Judgment of Non Pros show up on my reports?

I have a follow up question about the OP's case. What if he doesn't contest the appeal and the court dismisses his default judgement from the lower court, will he be responsible for all of the court cost and/or lawyer fees that the business he sued might have? -
In your account overview, the link is on the left hand side.

Don't feel bad. I have one too. It turns 5 years old on December 1st. I haven't used it since 2011.

They can't resell your debt to another JDB? Is this for a specific OC or all of them? It was part of the enforcement action CFPB levied against Portfolio Recovery and Encore. From the above link: "Enforcement Action Pursuant to the Dodd-Frank Act, the CFPB has the authority to take action against institutions or individuals engaging in unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices or that otherwise violate federal consumer financial laws. Under the terms of the CFPB orders released today, Encore and Portfolio Recovery Associates are required to: Stop reselling debts: The companies are prohibited from reselling the debts they buy to other debt collectors. This will protect consumers from the potential harm that results when debt collectors continue to sell and resell debts that may be inaccurate or lack the business records and information needed to collect them." More penalties are listed at the above link. Thanks so much for the snippet and posting the link, I'll definitely read it, as PRA has been a thorn in my side for awhile now. You're welcome! They hold two accounts on me but one of them was removed from my reports shortly after this decision. I wonder if they did something illegal and was forced to remove it?
