Bump Influence XX
-
I started of with a 15K limit many years ago. I didn't really use the card, so it slipped off my radar. About a year ago, I took a swing at a CLI, which I didn't think they'd do because of lack of use. I hit the luv button and asked for $60K. It wasn't an instant decision. A couple days later, I logged in to my account and saw that they'd bumped my limit to $50K - a $35K CLI - my biggest single CLI ever. They matched my high limit on other cards, but didn't go $60K. Two weeks later, I got a letter in the mail in which they apologized for not giving me the full increase I asked for!

Master Thread For What Happens After A CC Decline

I haven't been denied in a long time, but my approvals haven't been very gratifying either. The last four approvals were not instant, thus the euphoric rush of a high CL approval has escaped me recently. The thrill has been gone lately. -

Lucky you. I used to be at 91 days, but now at 121 days + and still with the weak minded "insufficient experience" denials. Same for wife. The turds at Discovery need LARTing. Hmmmm. I was at 61 days for a long time. I'll try at 91 and see what happens. -
AmEx fires another shot in credit card reward wars

I'd hit that. Yeah, me too. I logged into my account and discovered I had an upgrade offer, but without any Membership rewards. I'll pass until the rewards pop up again. I don't want to apply for a new Amex card, especially since there's no *D anymore. -

I'm thinking I'm now on the 91 day cycle. Tried once a 65 and then again at 70 days, both instant denials. -

Got a phone call today offering to bump me from $50,000 to $52,000 with POI. Submitting POI for a $2K CLI doesn't seem worth it. I'd counter and say I'll submit POI for $60K, and call it a day. During the short phone call she stated the income amount that I included with my CLI request, and asked me to confirm it. I could hear the skepticism in her voice when she asked, as if I had claimed to make eleven trillion dollars a year. So the only POI she asked for, was for you to confirm by phone the amount you included with your CLI request? No. I am supposed to follow up by sending pay stubs to an email address she gave me. I sent in TD's and my last pay stub on Friday. I used the email address provided by the rep who called me, and the subject line contains my home phone number, as instructed. Early this morning I got this email from Discovery: Dear Applicant: In order to answer your question, we need to speak to you. Please call (800) 347-4736, at your earliest convenience. We appreciate your interest in the Discover® Card and look forward to hearing from you! New Accounts Team 1(800)347-4736 Mon-Fri 8am-Midnight ET Sat-Sun 8am-10pm ET This is exactly why I haven't pulled the trigger on trying to get this thing over 50k. My next attempt would put me over 50K as well. I'm debating if I want the hassle this would involve. -
Uh.....meant D* not B*. I need to finish my coffee before I post....

I'm good with my three AMEX cards still B* to 1986 on Credit Karma, Credit Secure, and MyFico. This includes the closed AMEX Costco card which was "Closed by Grantor" when it switched to a Citi. The new Citi Costco had the actual opening date of the old AMEX version, not the B*.

Just got an email wanting me to sign up for the new Chase "Credit Journey" service, which provides a free Transunion Vantage 3.0 score. This offer was attached to my Freedom Unlimited card, but not others. Also, it looks like if you are a Chase Slate holder, you will see your Experian FICO score in the Credit Journey dashboard along with your TU Vantage 3.0 score. That's going to confuse a whole helluva lot of people, I would think. Seems silly not to give everyone a free FICO. I have heard anecdotally that Chase is one of the few who may use a Vantage score in their credit making decisions.
