Hello!

I had gotten a notice in the mail from “Professional Claims
Bureau” which is a collection agency in the amount of $810.00 where the
original creditor is a hospital where I had several treatments of
chemo/radiation from Oct 2010-June 2011.

I know I owe the hospital the payment and I had made a few
attempts to get on a payment plan with them. I agreed to a payment plan but it
was so inconvenient (no auto pay/debit, etc). My last payment to them was
1-30-2013. I really should have just paid the account but life got in the way.

I haven’t seen the collection account on any of my reports
and I’m really just concerned about a negative mark on my credit report that I’ve
been working hard to maintain. I opened up two new credit cards over the
weekend and now I’m paranoid that they’ll close my accounts or revoke approval when/if
a derogatory mark is placed on my report.

The thing is I called the Collection Agency (which was
probably stupid) to figure out what I could do about paying off the debt, and not
having the negative mark put on my report She stated I had SEVERAL accounts
with them totaling 1700 dollars which I have never received a collection letter
for. She said if I paid the amount she could send me a letter saying they
wouldn’t report it. I requested the offer in writing before I paid and she
insisted that I pay first. I told her I would call back…

Don’t know what to do now. I tried to follow the guide. So
far I’ve opted out, requested my MIB, and checked my credit reports.

I don’t know if this complicates things but I am moving in
10 days and (getting married in less than 2 months). I want to get my old
addresses deleted but the only bills I have are with my current address which
will change in 10 days.

This is so stressful. Thanks in advance though!
