First I wanted to thank everyone on this forum for there help.

I have successfully removed all of my lates and bad accounts on all my credit reports except one account.

The one I cannot get rid of is a paid collection from 2009. I disputed this collection with Transunion as not mine and they removed it.

Experian and Equifax on the other hand are being difficult. About a year ago I tried WhyChat's HIPPA Process to remove the paid collection but they stuck to their guns and did not remove the collection.

I am currently looking for a house and removing this would greatly improve my score and get me the best interest rate so I would be glad to hear any suggestions you guys have in order to get it removed.

Here is the topic of exactly what I did last year with the HIPPA Process

I appreciate your help and suggestions.

I noted some problems with your original disputes.

Were you able to get your old addresses deleted in your previous attempt??

Was the "paid" collection for services rendered at a previous address?? If not, then you do not need to delete previous addresses.

Send the initial dispute letter again to Ex and Eq.

If they both again verify, send the reporting CA the APPROPRIATE medical DVs: ( For accounts reporting as paid) Make sure you have a separate letter naming each individual CRA -you can mail them in the same envelope.

I can not tell if you sent the follow up dispute letters to the CRAs, do so this time as soon as you have proof of receipt. Make sure each CRA gets a copy of THEIR letter.

I have opted out again.

I will get the MIB report on Monday.

The collection was from my current address and I have never had any previous addresses.

I will start the dispute process as soon as Equifax and Experian remove my consumer comment that I am disputing the collection.

(I called them on Friday and had them remove the comment so I can dispute it again.)

I will start by hand writing a letter to the 2 CRA then wait for an answer then send DV to CA and upon receipt send another letter to the CRA's.

Then I will pray it comes off lol.

I've got the same problem. But I'm in escrow now and scared to touch it. It just makes me sick to my stomach to think that $125 Paid Collection will result in tens of thousands.... uuuggghhhh

Okay so we wound up finding a house right after I posted this so I did not do the above because I didn't want to change anything on the report and be in dispute going into a mortgage.

However I had a consumer statement on my account that my mortgage lender said needed to be removed.
I called Experian on the phone and they told me they can remove it in 3 days, I then called Equifax who told me it could take 30 days, I said okay to both and went about my business. Experian removed it 3 days later. Equifax wound up doing an investigation and not removing the statement dispute which harmed my credit because it made the last reporting date for May but then I just wrote to the collection agency and told them I am no longer disputing this account and it has been paid in full please remove the dispute and the account from the CRA report.
on May 28 I received a letter saying the consumer dispute statement has been removed and can take 30 days. The next day I got another letter saying they are removing the entire account from the CRA and it may take 30 days. I have been checking it every day and today was the lucky day. Both Experian and Equifax removed this from my report. My CR is now 100% clean = ) and I owe it all to creditboards.com you guys are the best.

The only thing that concerned me was I checked creditkarma and my score dropped today which was weird but I figure it is wrong and removing a collection has to help and not hurt.

The only thing hurting my report now is I have too many hard pulls on each CR.

Do you guys recommend I try to fight them? If so how?

Do a "back door" search of your reports and make sure that one or more of the collections is not now reporting as a "paid" collection

Do you guys recommend I try to fight them? If so how? Fight them on the hard pulls?? I think you have already hurt yourself with the calls and disputing disputes. Leave it alone. make sure you are still opted out

It was always reporting as a paid collection until yesterday when it disappeared. I checked the back doors and that's how I noticed that they have been removed from the report.

Okay I will take your advice and leave the hard pulls as is even though there are like 8-14 hard pulls depending on which CR I look at.

Were these "hard pulls" authorized?? If so you can't dispute them , if you are talking about UNAUTHORIZED hard pulls, then you can certainly dispute them with each CRA as being unauthorized.
