Hello All,

In a major dilemna here. Keepin the situation short and sweet. I had a Citi account that was recently closed and charged off. The whole process just started so I am trying to fix it quick. I cant get an answer as to when I will be reported but I know as of right now it hasnt. I was trying to get an agreement that I will not be reported if I pay it off. At this point unless I get that, no incentive to pay it right away. It is still in an in house collection so even though they have written it off its still in house. I was advised by a branch manager to wait until I get a letter and the negotiate with a no report or a pay for delete. I cant get any other answers. Anyone know what the timeline I have is? Is Citi a bank that will do a non report or a pay for delete whith stipulation of such? My biggest concern is I have a good standing Chase account that I have had for over a year. I am worried that a random sweep will get done and they will find out about this and lock my accounts up and close them. With my luck they will do it when I have all of my money in the account. Any advice on what to do here. Should I start getting paper checks in the mail to prevent all of this? Sorry for the rant and long post. I am

worried......

Citi reports to Chex fairly quickly usually around 30 days. It may be possible if you pay it ASAP you can get them not to report it to Chex but once it gets reported you most likely won't get it deleted . Chase does do sweeps and have closed accounts when a negative Chex entry is found.

When did they close the account?

Don't wait for any letters just call up and and set up the two payment thing with them and you shouldn't have any issues. Wouldn't make sense for them to report a account with a $0 balance.

Im attempting to do that, but everything is shrouded in a cloak of mystery. They are giving me no timeline and not allowing any type of promissory to stipulate that if I pay in full within x amount of time that they will not report it. Totally unhelpful and unsympathetic to the situation.

That's typical of all the large banks. You just have to pay it ASAP and just make sure you have the proof it was paid. Like I said it wouldn't make sense to report it to Chex if it was already paid in full but you may just want to wait till you have the full amount because they may report what ever is owed if you make a partial payment.

Are you the only one that lurks in here? Lol. Thanks for the input though. I am wondering if Ill be good and not have it reported within 30 days to give me enough time.

I guess so! This forum is kinda dead MCA is the expert in here but I'm sure she is busy.. That was a personal experience.. My wife owed them 30 something dollars because she had a account but that she stopped using after we moved away from the closest branch and they charged a fee that made the account go negative $2! Then they charged a overdraft fee. Just to make a point of how crazy that was she refused to pay. A little over a month later it was on Chex. She sent them a intent to sue letter and everything disappeared including the entry in Chex.

The other question I have is, I have a regular Chase checking and their Access checking which is the "restricted" account so to speak. I wonder if they sweep and find a new entry would they shut both down?
