Just curious, after reading an article on the main credit forum about lenders requiring documentation of practically everything but your blood type. We will be looking at buying a house in a few months and it sounds like things have changed a lot in recent years. (Current home purchased in 09 with USDA)

So, how many months worth of bank statements?
years worth of W2's
and.... what else?

Two months pay stubs
Two months bank statements
Two years tax returns
Two years W2's
Copy of BK Discharge (if applicable)

That's what my lender required just for the stinking preapproval LOL

I just sent my information to my lender. I put in an offer on a short sale. The buyer accept and now we are waiting on the bank. My loan officer said I could send my paperwork in so all that is done. I think he was surprised that I got all the info to him within 10 minutes.

-signed request for tax transcripts (they had 2011, 2010, and 2009 listed)
-2 years w-2
-2 bank statements (I also include copies of checks I deposited)
-2 months 401k statements
-1 month worth of paystubs

Hope this helps!
