Just got a letter from HSBC that they are going to delete from my credit reports. It is reporting as a CO/Sold/ Transfered.

I hope this helps my credit score some. =) On My Fico it isn't showing a little red alert flag saying it has a negative impact, so I don't know.

Congratulations! :clapping: Can u please tell me how u did it? I am trying desparately to remove 2 of em from mine: one I paid when it when it went to collections to MCM and another I had with them that resulted in a default judgement for them that hasn't been paid yet. Congrats again...

You probably will not like my reply....... All I did was send a standard DV, nothing special about it. In all honesty I didn't think they would delete. I don't see whoever they sold the debt to on my report either. I know the HSBC bit shows it was a charge off and then on another line it states Sold/ Transfered to another lender.

No NO. I like. I'm am going to attemp to the same as you did because mine says the same exact thing. But I fear that doing so will somehow have an adverse effect with respect to that judgement they have over me on another account. Can u pm me ur letter that u sent them if u still have it? This credit game one should play is such a drag! :(

I wonder if certain Companies and JDB getting in trouble recently is contributing to the deletions? I recently disputed 2 Portfolio Associates accounts that came from 2 HSBC accounts and they were both deleted on all 3 credit bureaus. Not only that but Equifax also deleted the 2 HSBC accounts that they came from. Now I am disputing the 2 HSBC accounts with the other 2 bureaus....we will see what happens. All of this by a simple DV letter.

Thanks for the info...I'm going to try as well. I have one HSBC charge off that is from 02/2008 and shows sold ot Arrow Financial. Arrow isn't on my report as CA, but LVNV is, who I'm currently in VoD with. Might as well try it with HSBC, nothing to loose at this point!

I read this board frequently. Has someone observed an uptick in deletions based on DV's? May be a good master thread if anyone had the ability, want or time.

I have three HSBC accounts - you sent just a DV? Not a 623? I'm still learning how to properly handle OC's - I had a field day and cashed a few checks with the CA's using TX law... but that doesn't apply to the OC's.

I got a letter from HSBC yesterday saying they are going to delete also. I sent a DV 3 months ago, I know you aren't supposed to DV the OC but I've heard it works sometimes and so I did. I figured since it had been so long they just ignored it, which is there right, but the letter said they apologize for the inconvenience and they notifiied all 3 bureaus to delete. It is already off of Experian and TransUnion. Now this is from 2006 and is only $128 dollars, but every little bit helps!

Anyone mind sending me the hsbc address you used? Perhaps even a copy of the letter used? I have already worked with capital one on an old HSBC account and the bastards won't budge.

I used PO BOX 5253, Carol Stream, IL 60197 . I don't have the letter I used but it was pretty much a standard cut and paste letter. Would have probably done it different with what I know now but hey it worked... be advised, it took them 3 months to respond. I had given up on it already.

I didn't see this thread before I made my own but I sent HSBC a GW (for Best Buy) and they deleted two 30 day lates on a closed card. I also used the Carol Stream address. :yahoo:
