  2. Yeah in grad school - the amazon card ended up buying quite a few text books lol
  3. Have a couple of old baddies holding me back for a little longer. My last 30 day late is over 18 months out (total accident i keep kicking myself over).
  4. Got a lump sum of cash today and took my nearly maxed cards down to zero balance... all estimators (including FICO) show this should boost me to around 680/690 on all three. Trying to get a house this fall and I hope this will get me there.
  5. Finally got around to filing with CFPB today - I'll report any results....
  6. So I've been fighting with Experian for a few months now. I bought a car back in may - I was able to have my credit report pulled just fine, but after getting the car I started having issues. I applied for a mortgage shortly after and they weren't able to pull my EX report, but could pull my wife's just fine. I called EX and they were certain it was on the bank's end (even though they pulled my wife's report) b/c everything was fine on my account. They confirmed I have no block or freeze in place. It ended up taking so long the house sold before I could get it straightened out. A couple of months later we try again - same thing... different lender. I called back - same story. Even spoke with someone in special handling. They could see my report (gave me a report number and I could access it too online with that number) and said nothing was blocking it on their end - must be the bank. Again - different bank and they could also pull my wife's report. Now I noticed I haven't received any transunion monitoring alerts on EX since 5/9 (and I've had new accounts show up). I have been unable to view my report online through the adverse action portal or through the online dispute portal. I was only able to view it online once with the report number they gave me. Nobody can pull my report. I can't get a myfico score through myfico or a fake one through transunion monitoring. I'm out of ideas. They have something screwed up in their system on their end that they cant see that is preventing everyone from pulling my report/score.... this is preventing me from getting a mortgage or any credit that uses them. Can anyone please offer any tips/suggestions to get them to figure this out? It's getting ridiculous.
  7. Just got approved for a 1k limit Barclay's NFL points card... I originally applied about 6 or 7 weeks ago. They sent a letter asking for more info (fraud alert) but it was lost and I didn't see it until this weekend. Called them this morning to see if it was too late... they repulled on the phone and approved me for the card. Should be here Friday That's great since Cabela's closed me due to a jacked up equifax report (still considering bringing a suit against them). My FICO TU is somewhere around 650 with a 3 year old repo, a medical collection, and my last 30 day late was January.
  8. Yeah I'm not a fan. This new loan is at least through GM Financial... so it will rebuild a history with them/Ally since they're somehow linked I think.
  9. Omni -my Equifax Fico Auto was a 575 (thats what GM pulled).
  10. Breeze - thanks for the story! Yeah - it seems trucks also hold their value more - at least here in Texas. Everyone seems to have a truck. I will keep my driving way less on this one than I did the last. Any major trips will be in a rental... I've always heard good things about the Silverado so hopefully I got a good one!
  11. Mendelssohn - the loan is financed for 72 months. There is not much negative equity rolled into the loan - the dealership took a loss (reimbursed by GMAC of course) to make the deal work. They took a 35,000 truck down to $30,500. I was upside down 10,800 actually (just checked last night and they bumped my trade in up - i didn't realize it) then I put 9,000 down so I was only negative 1,800 going in. They had to add in the extended 5 year B2B and Gap (which I wanted anyway) and the drive out was 33,260ish which was still 1800 under msrp. The reason I was so upside down on the last was due to extremely high miles. I had 94,000 miles on a car that was 3 1/2 years old. I had to drop it before it broke the 100,000 mile mark and would be worth even less. I'd also lost my job at one point and had to push a few payments to the back of the loan which hurt as well on the payoff.
  12. Yeah the interest blows... It's still better than what I had at 11.5%. I have a repo on my history that will be there for a few more years. It dings my auto fico hard, of course. Lack of options.
  13. I was driving a car that I had to get co-signed and financed through Santander about 4 years ago... 11.5% interest rate was eating me alive. I was upside down $11,400 due to high miles and the fact a Dodge Journey doesn't hold value as well as some other cars. I went to my local Chevy dealer yesterday and after a lot of work on their end to chip the price down to financing requirements.... I was able to drive off in a 2016 Silverado 1500 Double Cab! I ended up with 10.9% interest (I know it's not great but I plan on a refi in about 18 months) with no co-signer and my payments only went up by $30/month. Here's the link to my info in the auto forum if anyone is interested: https://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=313924&p=5472306
