I have a collection that is scheduled to drop from my credit reports on "7/2012". Does this mean it will be gone -- or eligible for successful disputing -- on 7/1/2021 or 8/1/2012?

Some helpful tips:
- Your post may not get a reply right away. Don't be discouraged, this is a very busy board. If it falls off of the first page, feel free
to reply to your post yourself, with the word *bump* in the text. This will *bump* your post back up to the top of the board. - If you haven't yet, take a peek at out Newbies Section.
Everything that you need to know is in that forum, for the most part! It's a lot of reading, we know, but this credit stuff can have a steep learning curve. In no time, you'll be posting like the pros! - If you find that someone is discourteous to you, use the REPORT button at the bottom of every post - that will ensure that a moderator or admin looks at the post and decides if it is against the TOS.
- Off -topic posts should go in the General Forum.

It will likely fall off of Equifax and Trans Union on 7/1 and Experian on 8/1.

Thank you for the reply.
Do these expired collections typically disappear on their own or do they usually require action from the affected party?

They usually disappear, but you can always move things along early by disputing them as obsolete but seeing they will be gone within a week or so you might have better luck with Experian by disputing it as obsolete since they like to hold on to things a bit longer than they should as LKH, pointed out.Thank you for the reply.

^this but if you dispute now it'll probably come off , you can usually dispute couple months early and the CSR will just delete ahead of time cause it'lll be extra work in a couple months anyways.
