I've called these salamanders and told them I would pay them off if they deleted the account. They wont budge at all. I contacted the orig. creditor to get the run around,. I'm supposed to close Sept 30 and this is costing me 1 point, just 1 point I'm at 619 mid score and no approval.

Any words of advise? Are there other lenders that would lend with a 619 score?

Can I ask why they are salamanders?

The whole credit system is built so that creditors can help other creditors by sharing past experience of potential customers

so if you have lates or a collection

they do a disservice to the system if they do a pay for delete

it is their option but they can say no

Just saying

Good Luck

Are you carrying balances on credit cards? If so there are probably points to be gained by paying them down or off.

If you have a young-ish report, you might also consider adding an old, well-aged AU account.

Penn Credit doesn't normally buy debts, they service them for the OC. You might make a written offer (phone is useless) to the OC that you'll PIF ASAP if they pull the account back from collections. May or may not work.

All balances are paid off. Those credit cards are probably 3-4+ years old. I've made a negotiation with the OC to have then send a letter to Penn to delete. I've already paid the account off, after negotiating. We will see....

Penn Credit is usually one who breaks the law....You might want to see HOW they are reporting exactly and get a delete based on that. Have you disputed with the credit reporting agencies? Go to the Credit Forum and seach for Penn Credit. :)
