unlimited free reports for Canadians?

I just read that Canadians can request unlimited free credit reports. Had no idea - I wish we did too.

Well that's news to me. I always thought it was once a year to request a hard copy via mail.

 

But I do know that if we're declined for credit we can request a current report regardless when we got our last one.

Yip officially it's once a year, but just like the folks across the border we can pretty much make it unlimited with disputes, etc. We can get free copies everytime something changes via disputes as well as if we're declined for something.

 

There are some different laws provincially with how many though. Not long ago it was possible for those of us in NS to have 1 per quarter free without doing any disputes, etc and get this.... free online! The Credit Bureaus claimed hardship on this one though and we lost it. Grrr
