Credit apps before closing?

we are waiting to close, hoping for December some time... i spoke with my mortgage broker about a few things and mentioned that i'm waiting to re-finance my auto loan. it's at a pretty high APR currently and i can now qualify for a nice $100/mo payment reduction.

 

my broker told me to go ahead and refi if it would reduce my payments. being this close to closing, i'm scared to do anything credit related and have not applied for anything since the mortgage pull in July.

 

would a new INQ and possibly this refi cause me to lose the mortgage?

 

i'm of the opinion that i should just wait it out another month or so.

 

edit:

 

scores are high 600s, maybe low 7s, haven't pulled FICO since July and had some INQ and other stuff drop off since the pre-approval.

you will likely have to sign a document saying that you have not acquired any new credit.

technically you would have even though it is favorable
