I sent the very first Medical Dispute letters on 9/11/2009 certified mail per the instructions by Whychat. I disputed 6 items with EQ and EX. EX has not responded at all but EQ sent me confirmation in writing that four of the six have already been deleted from my credit file. Two of these debts may be valid, the rest were duplicate entries on my credit file. This seems so easy...how do I prevent the accounts from being rereported? Yes, I did opt out and update all my addresses. I just want to make sure that if EQ deletes, it's really done.

Keep the letters of deletion for your records. If they reappear ON THAT REPORT, you can use this;

If any medical accounts are verified, then send the reporting CA this;

http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html

and follow up with this;

http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html#DISPUTE

If the reporting CA contacts you with PROOF of their current relationship with the OC health care provider, i.e. dates of service, name of patient etc. etc. and that PROOF matches your original billing statements or EOMB's from your insurance, then you can PAY the OC with the HIPAA letter insert "a".

Experian sent a letter saying that I had already asked for investigation, item remains! I don't recall ever disputing these. What do I do next? Equifax verified 2 but I don't hav confirmation of that yet (pulled credit backdoor, no formal response.)

One CA did send me "proof". Here is what they sent:

Dear Taratine

Per your request we have verified your debt with YouSuck Medical Center. They have informed us that the information in our files is accurate.

If you require a more detailed listing of charges, please be advised that this will include your personal health information. Please complete the release below and fax or mail back to 180094noway

Thanks,

I already sent this:

LETTER TO COLLECTION AGENCY ON MEDICAL ACCOUNT REPORTING WITH A BALANCE DUE

because Experiean verified using Eoscar

and as soon as I got the green card back I sent this:

FOLLOW UP LETTER TO CRA SEND CMRR

and now I get this letter.

please tell me that was right?

also, how many days do I give EX before moving on to the next step?

Is it only reporting to Ex??

What was the date of service??

Did you get a bill for the amount showing on your report??

Give Ex 30 days.

yes Equifax deleted today. It is only reporting to Experian now. I didn't get a date of service or a bill from the CA. Just the letter above.

OK, have you had a response from Ex on your follow up letter??

The reason you did not get a deletion from Ex. is because they verified electronically. If you had sent the initial dispute letter

http://whychat.5u.com/hipaadisp.html

they would not have been able to do that as easily.

Wait for a response from Ex on your follow up letter, if they do not delete, then file an FTC complaint against them and send them a copy with a cover letter.

Ok I recieved a bill from the other collection agency with a date of service (1-29-08) and patient name (my minor child). I have since contacted my insurance company for my EOB. My question is this, why did Equifax delete the entry I recieved the bill on and Experian did not? Should I assume the bill is in error? I still have not heard back from Experian but the 30 days isn't up yet either.

There is no rhyme or reason why the CRA do what they do, if you ever figure them out you will become very popular here on CB, that is for sure!

Give EXP their full 30 days plus 5 for mailing and then let us know what the results are.

I did send the initial dispute letter and it still didn't get deleted from Experian. I am now going to file my FTC complaint because they are out of time. Should I give them another 30 days from the time of my complaint?
