Visa Debit

Using it as a pin that it is ok (Unless it goes through the visa interlink)

Using it as a signature then it is not ok to have a minimum amount.

Mastercard Debit

Using it as a pin that it is ok. (Not sure if the Maestro Atm Network allows a minimum amount)

Using it as a signature then it is not ok to have a minimum amount.

"The main reason behind it is efficiency," Ahmed said. "When you deal with a high volume situation, where you're going through so many people in a short amount of time, it slows down the line."

That's impossible. Credit (and debit, by extension) card transactions are always faster.

I worked retail for five years. Credit card transactions were always better as far as ease of transaction. The worst would be checks. Customers would try to use other people's checks and claim it was their spouse or that they could not find their ID. Other cases would be that the address was different. We would always have to write the driver's license number as well as DOB, enter it into the register, and then scan the check, waiting for it to clear.

Cash was okay unless the nasty lady reached into her bra right in front of you and pulled out a wad of damp nasty cash and then hand it to you all folded up. Common with specific customers . . .

Also, it was safer with credit cards because we could always reprint them if they were lost. If you were shortchanged or scammed, you would be out of luck with cash.

I have not waited longer than 10 seconds for approval on any credit card in years

Most of the time it is like 1--->3 seconds (maybe 4)

Sometimes the slip takes LONGER to print than authorize

One time in the past 15 or 20 years I waited like

5 minutes at a restaurant for approval (why I have no idea)

…and it takes no longer for a $2 authorization to go through than a $20 one. salamander Ahmed must be retrained at once.
